HI Pat Very sorry to hear about Colin Harris RIP. Have known him since he was hauling for Borden Chemicals. How long ago was that? Never worked for him.Bit of a taskmaster. Hope Steve has sorted out his problems.Must try and look him up sometime.Said to TIR that we should come into the yard one day and have a cup of tea with you.Got any milk?

Can someone remind me of a cardboard box manufacturer. I think from Botley. There was a long established haulier in there who reloaded from my mums company in Howden.

Mum became great friends with the boss and his wife. I remember they had a woman driver on a box van. Im going back about 30 years

the ship is the ss france as it was known then, it was the biggest cruise ship in the world. then it became the ss norway when i worked on it in a&p in southampton dry dock. ive worked on the funnel standing on those wings in the picture, underneath it in the bottom of the dry dock. the best story is though the fitters took of the wrong pipe in the engine room and took of a full ■■■■ pipe … my god it stunk in there for days. they couldn get it back on quick enough.

Hi Pat

Great pics and memories. I think we had one of your old trucks - EFH 357Y. It was a dark blue LHD 142 - rear lift but the chassis was very long!! Not sure if it started life as a rigid. Ring any bells?

Hi MJM

I do seem to remember a long tractor cut down from a rigid did you buy it from Peter Gilder??

Here is it’s sister

Regards Pat

Hi Nobby and Charlie another pic of Scorey

Thanks Pat

No - I seem to recall we bought it as a ‘fill in’ because we had lost a motor in a breakdown. I think it was a cheap part ex that the Palmers were selling in Colchester. I think it must have been a rigid because you could have put a garden shed between the cab and trailer!!!
