Hi John Happy New Year to you, The Boss, Horry and ■■■■■■,
Well spotted we were waiting for the ferry to Sardinia, myself,Angie and Louis Bull’s driver Terry, 3 trucks each with 20 tons of oil from Esso at Fawley, much to the amusement of an Italian in an IVECO 190.48 who said you English come all this way with 60 tons on 3 trucks,I have the same on 1 truck.
Hi R&A, HNY 2 U both ■■
Your comment reminded me me of an Italian Convoi Eccezzionali driver we had on the Grimaldi Lines ship destined for Valletta.
He grossed 60 tons ish (he didn’t really know). Loaded “outside” of Genova for Sicilia, getting off in Catania. He admitted he didn’t apply for any permits as it wasn’t worth it. Small distance into Genova and no one gives a f%*k in Sicilia. Plus ca change!
Many moons ago I took a load of Synthetic rubber to Mantova think for Colin Wilks aka Hocfun, this I believe was a common load for ASR back then also. On arrival at the chemical complex there was a double sided weighbridge one in one out with a central wheel house at cab window level, when weighing my 32ton gross load noticed an old Fiat waggon and drag 8 axle combo tanker on the opposite side coming out and looked twice at the dial on his load which IIRC was 68tons, no wonder they were slow up them hills Buzzer
Best you stop logging in if all you can do is pick fault, don’t see you posting a glittering display of pictures, back in your cave and reread your Beano comics its more your style
