Lamberts just like buses ! 3 come along together ! Now I maybe mistaken but they look like they got aircon units on them trailers from Searls at Fareham ? Remember loading them for Skillbeech back in the day for Italy,
Nah I didn’t get that part of the job I just loaded em and I remember loading a trailer with them units for Pete Monger. (RIP)
Hi Jim,
Yes that was a nice easy load we used to load them every week out of Lyon area back to Fareham, on a flat trailer .

Richard

Yep you are right Richard Genas and then clear at SET Transport ST Priest. Did lots and lots of it for Matsolex whilst I worked for RS Hill’s. My job for a while was to do two a week ship M/T, load ship in, tip and back out, and some times had to go to their other factory at Cremue near Statolas airport. was really hard work honest… NOT

Hi Bev and thanks a lot for coming back on that Krupp matter. I am not sure that it was fitted with a Scania engine though and if it was there was nothing that Scania could have done about it as it was badged as an Atkinson Krupp and not a Scania. Scania did however threaten to sue Sammy Williams of Dagenham for fitting a Scania 110 with a gardener 180 engine back around 1970 or so, when it’s own engine blew up. He was told by their lawyers to take the Scania badges off as they did not produce such a truck. (This fact is well documented and known). Also just to add, Hills of Botley cut a Guy rigid down and made it into a six wheeled unit and had the same problem with Guy Motors as they did not manufacture such a thing. They had to take the Guy badges off and called it a ‘Bridge Motor’ and badged it up accordingly. There are photos to prove this and also Chris Hill will substantiate this. Also on the same note, Eric Baker of Bakers Transport used to perform some surgery on his E.R.F’s and afterwards badged them up as H.M.C’s. This stood for Hampshire Motor Company, which was his workshop that built his heavy haulage trailers. Funny old world ain’t it mate? By the way Bev I’m not keeping too bad for an old’un and how are you? You say you’re keeping busy over here but where is that, have you moved to Latvia or somewhere? Kind regards to you Bev, Nobby.

This appears to be one of them! It’s the ERF with a Gardner 150 in it. that Hutpik who still blogs on here, did no fewer than three trips to Kuwait in. Note the crew-cab-■■■-sleeper-cab! Full story on the Astran thread (and don’t ask me for the link!!!). Robert
