Balders my very first car was a 1956 MG Magnet…I gained 6 endorsements in that one.
This was followed by…can’t remember the exact order, but included Austin A40 , Austin Cambridge,
Had a few Zephyr 4 / 6,s, Cortinas Mark1 and 2 , Vauxhaul Cresta, Austin Allegro
Etc etc …several of those were £25 to £50.
Still have my first car and use it regularly , 1931 Austin 7 cost me £3 /7/6 and also am at present I am restoring a 1938 Austin Ruby ,one owner from new , 36 k miles but been off the road dry stored since 1960.
Complete rebuild, junked the 1500 petrol and fitted a 4/99 Perkins from a Ford Thames (with help from Perkins Peterborough) and a 4 speed overdrive 'box.
kerb it: my old mans first car was an Austin 7. Could have told you the reg last year but the Emory has slipped now…
Tone: ah the old MG , SIX endorsements■■? Good Man. They were a goer. Twin SU’s I think. I had a green one when working at Daveys Garage in Wickham as an apprentice. Totalled it one rainy night on the Southwick bends . Had few luck escapes when I think about it. No seat belts then either.
Gary

My 1st car FGT 877. Soon converted to haulage. Took off the bumper and used a piece of angle iron to bolt the 2" towball on. All pre MOT. Cost £35 and sold after 2yrs for £25. The body started to split as the bumper brackets were fixed to the body not the chasis!
As it’s Sunday…to go with the mediterranean roast chicken…some Soave. Not been there in a long while, not tasted some in a long while. A happy reunion!
My most classic car was a 1966 Ford Mustang Coupe that was imported from Belgium (apparently Ford sold a fair few there) owned in 1980, had it about a year and sold it to a driver from RHM at the Solent mill in, even made a small profit, would be worth about £12,000 today which is ten times what I paid for it, hindsight is a wonderful thing.
Hi all my first car was a triumph standard 10 it was known as “Gladys” I remember it had a little start pull under the dash ! bought from a fella for £20 when I was in the navy after that I went big time Ford Anglia

Hey Gazz I remember you and your "Diesel Dynamotive " I think it was called !! Good Days Tim Vaughn and his Saturday Banana Ford Pop !!
Ha! The old anglebox. Brilliant mate. They were great for a bit of customising.
My old da had one ( not customised! ) 8755 PX was the number. Both that and your old plate would fetch a shilling these days.
Kerbut. The number of my old mans Austin 7 was BUR22. Will have a look at eBay.
Funny I suddenly remembered those number plates from 50 odd years ago but can’t recall what I had for dinner last night
Baldrick
Just had a look at the Austin 7 register and BUR 22 is not listed there as surviving (BUR 527 does though ) on mycarcheck.com the number is not on another vehicle either.
Hmmmm. You got me thinking now! Pretty sure the BUR is bang on, but the numbers are in a fog at the mo…
What County was BUR?
How many of those old Austins survive?
Funny that Tone says his first car was an MG when we ALL know it was the Model T prototype…
