Buzzer…as a salesman you might remember the fruit & veg firm that I and
also Fergie worked for at the time…initially it was called Oberyield and then Simons.
My memory ain’t what it was, but companies in the market I recall, were Pouparts,
Rowe and Geco, oh and Dan Wuille ■■?..blimey that was 45 / 46 years ago.
Here you go Tone, scanned picture from Robin Masters book “Produce from Asum” it’ll bring back a few memories I hope…
mappo:
Fergie…Hi Dave, long time since we heard from you mate.
Hope all is well with you and Liz.
Now that photo,s a cracker…brings back very fond memories.
Ps…Dave do you remember the railway sidings and the Italian apples.■■?
Seems like a lifetime ago…
We’re both well thanks Tone, and you?
Of course l remember the sidings, l was the get-a-way driver …in a T.K.Bedford…

Ar “Mossy” would like to let you know he’s OK and back at work driving. He had been on light duties, pushing a broom around the yard but that was more stressful than driving a Tug!
Was given this rare snap this afternoon courtesy of Mr Newman. Nice cardigan Dad…
No idea when, but must be 80-81?
Thanks to Matt Newman for the pic
My old 89 Horry…
Ime glad you confessed to being the past owner of that F89 in the picture only I had a bit of bother with it and was wondering if there was any warranty on it, now I know it was you Fergie I will instruct my legal guru who resides in Wellow to implement proceedings, you will here from him shortly, cheers Buzzer.
Dad did tell me a long time ago you were a former occupier of the 89, hence the low mileage lol…
I can just about remember it, some where there is a pic of me in front of it and I am sporting a rather lovely Parka.
I have very early memories of going with Dad in either an 88 or 89 into a steelworks and they loaded overhead. I hid on the top bunk. Christ would make the front pages now if that happened.
Mappo never let me go with him as a lad in case I disrupted the Karma of his sheepskin seat covers
Only joshing TIR, you are an Icon within the history of the company - When I get round to writing a book on us, I can either dedicate it to you or do a chapter on you - you decide!
Thanks for taking the time to read this, I appreciate it is a busy time of year both at work and home. Last month I took part in the Bupa Great South Run. Most of you will know this was my first experience of long distance road running. It was a great day which I will never forget, ■■■■■■ ran it for the fifth year in a row and all our lot were there to support me. Experiencing it gave me a great deal of motivation (even for a Saints fan running round Pompy!!)
This coming March I am taking part in the Reading half marathon to raise money and awareness for a charity called MACS which supports children who are born blind. Please help to support this cause by following my journey to Reading on my fundraising page, the full story can be found there.

Hi.The picture of the Volvo pulling a SCAC tilt was used on the French traffic which was done by SCAC.If John was pulling for RH&D or pulling for the Italian traffic he would more than likely pulled one of their Kangroo tilts which went to Navarra by rail from LE HARVE, just thought I:d mention this to stop us slipping onto page 2,Regards Todd. :

I,ve only just spotted this post, dunno how. I missed it…
I was just wondering Horry, if I could have an advance on my royalties from your forthcoming
multi million selling book.
I don’t expect it in a lump sum, maybe just a few grand a month would do for now. ( cash naturally )
