Is the Red on the doors part of the new livery Paddy was talking about on here after Pat,s death ?
I think the original plan was to re spray it in Pats old colours of blue and red, but there
wasn’t enough time to get it done before the funeral.
Whether it,s gonna stay as it is now or not I don’t know.
Jimski,s In touch with Paddy and Terry Moody, so he,s your man to find out.
Gazzer…hi mate, I tried to phone you a couple of times today but
couldn’t get through. Have you not paid yer bill ■■?
Hi all
It didn’t feel right using my fathers account and I also keep an eye on here and noticed a few question as tony said the original plan was to paint it in the old pat Duffy colours such as PHO 100P which buzzer put on but a lot of people have mentioned that it looks quite smart as it is so, me and terry have been deciding weather to paint it or not we might keep it as it is.
I would also like to thank everyone who came to the funeral and to the wake after sorry it’s a bit late but have bin really busy! But I really did apprieciate it.
Regards
Paddy Duffy
Not my bill TIR Tone, Hellawell’s!
There is no phone signal in Beaulieu for Vodafone or O2 users. We are on O2. My own phone on 3 has just enough signal for phone and internet.
That kid in front of Terry’s F10…is he a budding traffic cop with a “Hair drier?”
Eurohaul IIRC was originally CHH -Continental Hire & Haulage. Later in the 70’s Robin Colenso also operated trailers with Andre Kalfon (SRF) .These trlrs had RK fleet nos
Can just see a Jameson’s trailer behind that Eurohaul trailer !
What’s it say on that banner …" Welcome home TIR Tone ! " Must have been a long trip Tone

The Europic ferry was one of many freighters which over the years served the Southampton/Le Havre route
Some were not so good (Viking 4 ?) & some like Europic were excellent -oak pannelling/quality food etc.
The Europic was requisitioned during the Falklands conflict & became part of the Falklands Task force.
This picture, taken in 1982 from the Europic Ferry, shows the waiting crowd at Dockhead
One of Pitters Ivecos from the past, Buzzer.

Hi roolechat,
Yes I remember the Europic going to the Falklands, the crew Wally,Scouser,Doris, and others went with it loaded with ammo, brave people !!
We had to make do with the likes of the Doric, while they were away, having your meals in a portakabin chained to the deck, and we were only going to Le Havre, many a Sunday spent on there with Dave Tutt, in his jumpers his Mum knitted for him
Jim, Mappo didn’t go to the Falklands, he was still recovering from WW 2 where he was a rear gunner in a Spitfire so he told me

Richard
Richard. What a teller of stories that Mappo is. He told me that he flew in Wellingtons but he had to give it up because they made his feet smelly. Hence the socks and sandals. Regards Charlie
Bloody hell Jimmer, look wot you,ve gone and started AGAIN now.
Paddy …good to see ya looking in mate, and keeping in touch.
The Scania does look nice in the latest livery, but it would also look the biz in Pats old colours.
There was no need to thank us for attending the funeral and wake, it was the least we could
do to pay our respects to your Dad.

Charlie if you ever wondered where sayings come from, Mappo is responsible for creating one which is “to boot” what I don’t understand is why the shorts, that must have been a bit brass monkey in the rear of a spitfire, Buzzer.

Hi Charlie,
Hope the hip is on the mend, when he was in the Wellington he told me he was tipping 3 Germany’s a week, and never stopped
John,
I think you’ll find Mappo’s saying was “Das Boot” from his time in the German navy after he’d switched sides, and if you remember he was always asking for a “sub” He soon packed it in because he couldn’t find any fruit machines on board
Regards
Richard

Richard. Another of Mappos stories. We were sharing a bunk on the Viking 1V.( Only because it was cold you understand ) and he told me about his time in the RAF. He said that he was in when Pontius was a pilot. Not sure I believe it.Re the old hip.Yes all is well thanks.Still using a stick.May have a problem putting my hand in my pocket at the bash. No change there I hear you say
Richard…when I was doing those German runs, it was a quick tip, but
couldn’t find a reload, so came back to blighty empty…I * flew * home.
Charlie…we can’t both use that old excuse about can’t put yer hands in your pocket,
I,ve got a genuine reason, cos I,m having the old carpel tunnel wotsit done tomorrow, so
you,ll have to come up wiv something else.
