Willment from London had no connection with Woolston Wilment’s operated plant, tippers (M.Deutz) & Ready Mixed vehicles
Willment’s Shipyard in Hazel road became derelict in the 60’s,the large slipway was filled in & the site became home to a variety of businesses. BY & Boyes Conning were both in Hazel Road

I seen it at Chandlers Ford when I worked for Barry, did not last long there but remember a brand new crusader sleeper being delivered. Drove a GUY Big J and boy did it fly, 75mph down the M5 in it one day, only thing you had to think how to stop it, Buzzer.

Hi John no that was his from new I believe, although he did eventually sell it and then start doing the sellers and flying home!

Barry worked as a driver for Astran before becoming a subby

He drove this Scania 140 KJN 671P before Jerry Whelan (RIP) bought it from Astran and then later Jerry sold it to me when he packed up!

Pictured here when Eddie Huntley was driving it parked next to Phil Dibden who was on for Transport Services.

Hi all I had a phone call today from my daughter " dad got a surprise for you " she popped over with two old photo albums she was given by my ex !! And amongst the pics was some truck pics thought you’d all wanna see !

Sorry bit grainy yes that’s Winkys old 88 in France somewhere in the Loire Valley which I went with him . Yes that’s Winkys legs !!
My old F88 before she had her stripes painted !

R Jimmer

What a great surprize for you Jim well done mate

Regards Pat

Jimmer think im’e right in saying that 290 F88 was KHO —N and was bought new by Ted Creswell, his brother Robbie used to do Readings in the evenings with Renault car parts on RH&D for me and afterwards to Swindon when they moved to a new purpose built distribution unit. Here is a picture of my old F12 outside Swindon, I had just picked it up from Hartshorn after it had a Granning axle put on, the F12 was ex Cave Wood, cheers Buzzer.

Hi Buzzer KHO 534N it was Winkys pride and joy ! I drove it for a couple weeks for him while he jetted of on holiday with his wife, that was summer of 1980, I was bumming around looking for work, I did a bit for Nick Khiari and Micky Chant (R.I.P) on Skillbeech , I went on my first trip over the water for Skillbeech and one I’ll never forget ! Micky Chant gave me a job to tip Veldhoven reload Eindhoven they were having the trailer sign written with the old Kenwood Kitchens on the side of a new Tautliner, Micky said to me “watch it in the towns there’s loads of low bridges but once your on the Motorway your okay”…
And I was ok I got round all the low bridges in Veldhoven and got to the motorway on route to Eindhoven, untill there was this one bridge on the motorway that just didn’t seem to be quite right and at 50 mph it didn’t half ■■■■ me up !!!

Result was 4 metre limit Holland, don’t go with a 4 metre 28 trailer unless you measure all the bridges on route !!!
R Jimmer
