Lockdown

I’m wondering where all the police are going to come from to enforce this? The default response to pretty much every crime is “we don’t have any resources to deal with it, but here’s a crime reference number”, irrespective of what level of crime it is, so where are the hundreds of thousands officers magically coming from to stop every vehicle in order to check and confirm that they are going to Tesco or work? Is anyone else wondering this or just me?

How about those boys in karki uniforms with shooty things

“Places of worship such as churches and mosques must also shut

Hands up who wants to place bets on how this restriction pans out? o/

^^^^ one side of the coin will be rigorously enforced, the other not so much. Anyone wanna take bets on which?

The fact that churches and mosques will also be shut tells me that some peoples faith in God isnt as strong as they made out

It was always coming unfortunately.

I would argue it was fortunate as it will hopefully save some lives.

You may very well be right Jake. It’s all semantics now though. The important thing is to take heed and reduce the loss of life.

See, I can be a grown up now and again!

I respectfully disagree. Harsh and callous as it may sound, this is natures way of redressing the balance. We’ve been here before, and carried on afterwards. We are far to obsessed with keeping people alive as long as possible, even to the point of extending their suffering, just for the sake of it.

All those who keep quoting the fortitude of generations past, seem to forget that they accepted death as a certain, to be accepted as part of life.

So there are reports of raids on supermarkets in Southern Italy (Palermo, Sicily) only in their 3rd week of lockdown. Any bets when we’re going to start here?

probably never, Southern Italy is incredibly poor and crime ridden even before all of this.

Stores in south Africa were looted within days of their lockdown being announced too.
