Load Straps - Are they colour coded?

The ratchet straps aren’t colour coded for loading capabilities.The strap itself might be capable of 5T or 10T restraint but the ratchet is normally capable of only 2.5T, so this will give long before the strap.

The ones I’ve just bought are stamped as 5000 kg on the ratchets themselves, so if they’re only capable of 2.5 tonnes, then the company that made them is putting themselves at risk of a serious lawsuit… :wink:

I said they are normally rated at 2.5T, your ratchets are obviously not as they are stamped 5T.

The ratings are told by the number of stiching lines down the middle of the strap I.E. 1 ton per line of stiching.

Slings for use in L.M.C. are colour coded though but definatley not ratchet straps.
