After countless phone calls and help from various kind people I have my mod 2 test booked for the end of December in England , as the iom isn’t part of the E.U or the uk, it was a bit tricky, but have got there in the end

When you do it will you have an IOM or UK licence?

There giving me a licence number to do the test, but I bring me licence over as I.d.
Do my mod 2 first, then mod 4 in the new year, according to them I’ve got mod 1&3 done!

You do have mods 1 & 3 done because that is the LGV theory and practical tests

I did wonder how they were going to get around the IOM licence issue - thanks

That’s the thing rog, I haven’t done a theory as such it was just a 30 question show me question sheet in the cab on the day of the test, so that could be a grey area, it’s something I’m going to have to question before or when I go.

In the UK the theory, in whatever form it currently is, must be passed before the practical pass can be GIVEN
The new rules state the theory must be passed befor the practical can even be booked
The old way before the current theory test were introduced was to ask questions on the practical test - that is the way I did it in 1988

As the IOM is allowed to do it the old way for their LGV then it is acceptable for the UK so no need to worry

Each EU country may also have different ways of doing things but all are acceptable
