Our local dealer, TruckEast, have just been bought by Keltruck. So far so good…
Actually, ythats not quite true, Truckeast has been bought out by three people, the old MD and Finance director of Keltruck and a director of the “old” truckeast
Truckeast and Keltruck are not connected, Sorry to burst your bubble.

Hey no worries - not bursting any bubbles at all. I’d obviously heard it slightly wrong.
As long as they fix my old crate when it’s in dock then I’m happy.
And if I find any grease on the inside when I colllect it, I will not be amused. Mr Kelly will be made very aware of it!!

Flying Fenman!!! you have stolen my truck…
We have at our depot AY03 ATF… is a sister motor to yours ■■
Almost mate, mine is AUC.
We currently have ‘03’ Scanias AUE, AUJ, AUL ASZ, EU04GHG, and a solitary DAF 85 in an otherwise entirely German fleet.
Was talking to one of the blokes from Fleet last week, and he reckons there’s only about sixty left across the whole country. They are reaching the end of their time with us. We’ve probably had seven or eight go since February.

I always found scanias awsome on fuel, unusual when i 1st started to drive them cos they always seem to be labouring.
I am however not a scani fan, i find the seat uncomfortable the lumber support needs to be higher up and that would stop the lower back problems it gave me.
The steering is in my opinion to light i dont personally feel that you do feel the road that well.(sorry f-fenman i disagree)
I think they pull well but the gearbox just doesnt feel, the best way to describe i think is it doesnt feel real.
Im only short 5’6" and that means i need to be farely close to pedals and with the clutch height its a night mare always gettig my foot caught under it.
Cab suspension i feel is a little soft they rock and lean thro even the slightest bend.
No im definatly not a big scania fan sorry to those that are.
just so that you all know, people from all walks of the industry do read the posts on trucknet.
the manager of keltruck nottingham was made aware of the post i have put on this topic and traced the owner of the truck (my boss) to get some answers.
my boss admitted he knew absolutely nothing about the post but took the managers number and passed it onto me.
i called him up expecting a strong denial and a threat if i didn’t remove the post but i actually received an apology and an explanation of why it might have happened.
after a conversation i was assured that the nottingham branch of keltruck is as good if not better than every other branch and i am quite welcome to see for myself.
so not being one to shy behind the pages of this website i have agreed to take my truck to nottingham for it’s next service.
i will let you all know what the outcome is after that.
