Job hunting with a difference

I’ve been in a similar situation, nasty divorce, I ended up with custody of all 4 of my kids.

Made a decision early on that I’d have to leave transport & re-train for something else. I ended up going to college to do A levels then 2 years in Uni, was hoping to go into teaching but ruptured my Achilles’ tendon in the 2nd year & couldn’t get the funding to re-take it.

I ended up working part time in a high street store, with working tax family credits I was able to keep a roof over our heads & food on the table. As the kids get older it does get easier, been back in transport for the last 3 years & alls good now. Best of luck mate, much respect.

Self-employed courier work?

Just a thought

Agreed Juddian. I wouldn’t want to go putting that stuff all over the newspapers. But a Commercial Motor article maybe useful.

Doesn’t Lucy write for CM? Or did I dream that?

I had this happen to me with two boys age 6 - 4, i got a live in nanny, paid her cash and if i had a night out, i gave her the night out money as well.
