Thanks for your help Spud. As of lunchtime Tuesday we’re on over 100 members so it’s really taken off.
Please add comments, photos, videos etc. so the general driving public can get a handle on how truck drivers really are.

No problem.
There is no doubt that we are living in changing times and social media is one of the most powerful tools available to organisations In terms of advertising or simply getting a message “out there” it could be said that its the “internet of its time” it is changing the way the people communicate and like it or loathe it, it will not go away.
I recently gave a presentation at a fleet management conference and before I’d sat down a couple of members of the audience had taken my photograph and uploaded it to various social media feeds.
Organisations can embrace the potential or not, but I’d suggest that those that do will in the end become more successful.
Thanks Spud. I see this as a great opportunity for us truckers to communicate with the car owning fraternity and may be get them to understand our point of view.
We’re up to 160 members this morning, quite a few of whom, I’m pleased to say are trucknet contributors.
Thanks for joining but we need you to bump (like) the posts to move us up the ranks and also please post yourselves with anything and everything, photos, videos, comments, gripes etc.etc.
But please don’t abandon Trucknet! This is the best forum for truckers anywhere!!!
is it completely auto censored as it is in here,or can you say and write your genuine opinions without getting moderated/baned etc?..and can you now access it without having anything to do with facebook and the like?
I’m the moderator mate but forthright comments are what we need!!
Not sure if you can get in without Facebook but give it a try and please let me know!

So what’s the connection between Drivetribe and Drivetime.
Every time that I click on the Drivetime link an advert comes up asking me to click on a blue box to “GET YOUR DOWN PAYMENT”
As far as I know there is no connection.
Drive tribe is free!

Your dead right I’ll not be abandoning TNUK, and how you believe that you can reason with car drivers is beyond me Jazzer ! The gulf is far too wide and the transport fraternity never would “down tools” for a week or so 25 years or so ago which would have brought to UK to a standstill and then the General public/ car driver fraternity would have really sat up and taken notice. Unfortunately the opportunity is lost as the industry is now, more-or-less , in the hands of big players and the vested interests are many and varied. So just accept that the industry and mainly the drivers are looked down upon by the aforementioned sectors of society as the lowest form of animal life that just clog up the nations roads with " Juggernaughts" Cheers Bewick.
Up to 300 members this morning!!

I think in this eWorld we have to go with the flow and take advantage of every opportunity.
This site is not part of Facebook. It is a stand alone website.
I will be trying to putour great industry in its’ proper perspective and the Trucking Magic thread will be open to all to add comments, photos and videos. So I would be very grateful for your support to get it up and running.
Hi Andy, I have tried to join but I don’t want to go on Facebook.
I went on the Drivetribe website and section 3.1 states.
“To set up an account you need to register with Facebook”, so what do I do now.
They’re saying that you’ll be able to join via Twitter shortly.
