THIS COUNTRY IS PANTS, END OF!!!

WE LET THE GOVERMENT WALK ALL OVER US AND WE JUST SIT THERE AND TAKE IT!!! ITS ARE FAULT!!!

Just look at the price of GAS/Petrol, 3 increases in 18 months and know one has notice but don`t get me started.

Have a safe journey home mate. GOOD LUCK!!!

Jim

take me as well! only need to get as far as cincinnati!

well my friends as i promise i would keep in touch, i just wanted to let you all know that i have officially booked my flight back to Texas, also have spoken with my old boss and got my old job back driving for the company i drove for for the last 3 years before moving to England, i explained the situation to him and the first thing he told me was get your ticket and call me to let me know the time and day you arrive at the airport and i will come and pick up myself and take out to dinner and pay for the hotel, and the very next day i will be in the truck making money, i will be driving an International Eagle 2009 model, 10 speed straight ten, anyways i go back on the 15th of Feb and i will be back in the UK on the 17th of June to see my baby born and also to register him at the American embassy to be able to get him an American passport, my wife will be staying here living with her sister in the mean time as we can afford to pay rent anymore, i will live in the truck and only spending money on food while saving the rest, i figured it out and from Feb to September which is when my wife and baby will fly back to America to stay i should have saved by then about $ 18,000 dollars more than enough to get a place, furniture and a car and still have money left over plus still having a good job earning good money, God bless you all and drive safe and the same goes for me as well, it will be hard to leave my wife behind but this small sacrifice we are making will pay off big time by just been able to offer them a better, secure and more stable living and income over back home in the good old US of A…cheers y’all and i will always be in touch…10-4

As someone who has a uk hgv and now lives in the states I was going to go down the road (no pun intended) of doing a home course and brushing up on american traffic laws then taking the test for about the cost of $200.00 only to find out several things, firstly in the state where I live (Washington) you have to do a four week course, cost approx $4500.00 then nobody would take you on on long distance until you have a years experience of driving trucks whether local or whatever and some even said you had to have had a car licence for a year before they would consider you to enrol them in their truck driving schools with the promise of a job at the end of it.
Also you cannot exchange a uk car licence for a us one and if you are intending to live and work here you must take the test in our state at least within 30 days.
The point about wages being good as a driver is debatable as most distance work is paid miles at a rate of 35 to 40cents per mile so if you equate that to the pound its 22 to 25 pence so you can imagine how many miles you have to do a day to make decent money.
I now sell cars for a living and suprisingly enough people are buying a lot of them so I’m making good wages every month and have lost the interest in trucking and being away for two or three weeks at a time.
