I’d be tempted to drive in, then phone plod and ask for assistance as you have no option other than to reverse out onto an A road & you consider this dangerous. Explain that under normal circumstances you would have reversed in, but have been threatened with being booked.
That’s what I’d have done, although I’d have explained that to him first, and suggested that he sticks around for a while so that the traffic officer who has to waste their time assisting can give him a quick lesson in road safety!
The cop was a jerk. I would’ve done what some others have said and asked for a traffic cop to come and teach him the Highway Code. Does my bonce in that he’s giving orders and making threats when he’s in the wrong. Typical arrogant cop.
Pen, paper…Write down the facts as they occured to the force’s Chief Constable and ask for a suitable reply. State if a reply hasn’t arrived within 14 days you will ask the local newspaper to publish your letter!
