When it comes to dress sense I am your man, for an informal interview I would normally wear a white ruffle front [zb] and bow tie. Smoking jacket and monocle always looks smart but doesn’t scream overdressed. Posh firms will expect to see you in full country shooting attire completed by the wearing of a deerstalker hat. Hope this helps and bloody good luck.
I have an interview on Wednesday, should I go dressed in my hunting gear? Olive or moss? Tweed or synthetic? It’s a minefield
I think I will just go smart casual and not mention the fact that I hunt, so many soft people about who only eat meat from the shop, because that was tickled to death don’t you know?
ATB,
Tommy.

Yes full country gent wear will win you the job, guaranteed. Tweed is always a classic with knee length tweed trousers, yellow knee length socks. Don’t wear amber socks as it oozes ■■■ appeal and a sultry look.

You people are well sharp dressed arnt you ?
Like a fashion parade when you see truckers like myself stepping out of the cab. Image is everything in this game Chloe. No medals for second place. Paris, Milan or the M25, it is all the same to me.

Floorless absolutely floorless… Like perfection !
Think you mean flawless, floorless is a room with no celing on the cellar below, and I don’t think that was what George Michael was on about either.

Definitely have never seen anyone go for a driving job interview/chat in a suit! Sure Adonis over here it’s just you walk into the company’s office, ask is there any jobs going, ask about pay, what you’ll be driving and then they ask you when can you go out on the boat? Lol
Unless it was some fancy company it’s about as informal as it gets in NI/Ireland!

Despite having over 20 jobs I’ve only been to an interview 3 or 4 times. Every other time I was given the job over the phone!

I’ve done that before now, as well as interviewing people in the cab of whoever they were working for at the time!
I’d be surprised if someone turned up for a driving interview in a suit, but I’d not have it as a negative.

I wouldn’t say it would be a disadvantage but can you imagine an assessment with some fella hooking up the lines and lifting the trailer legs then driving out the gate in a suit. Would certainly turn a few heads The one person I could genuinely see doing this though would be switchlogic

Yeh the last thing I would want is black 5th wheel grease over my best Hugo Boss.
Ok, I’ll be honest, it’s really from George at Asda.

Nor me. When I interviewed people for Virginia a couple of chaps turned up in ties and I thought nothing of it. Most came on work clothes though
Summing up, in real terms it shouldn’t matter if you turn up wearing a mankini and a German helmet, if you impress them on your driving asessment with careful safe efficient driving, that will determine that you get the job…or should.
