Agencies advertise all the time because they want to have “a few spare drivers in their back pockets”.The sonso should be prosecuted under the trade descriptions act for offering non existent, or previously filled jobs.
Tell us where you are and maybe someone will know of a decent company in your area.

I agree with you, I am registered with a couple of agencies but they offer me temp jobs which is no good for me, or factory work which is not what I’m looking for 
I live in Kent.
Some others have taken on temp work at weekends to get a foot in the door.
I don`t know about your family commitments, whether your existing work would allow for legal driving work etc etc, but that might be a possibility.
The actual hours driven will keep your hand in, and just might result in you getting in first for a perm job.

i disagree sorry every agency i have been with offer full time work on a temp basis
have you tried mainstream or logistics people.
logistics people have the morrisons contract at sittingbourne no assessment and just need to have had your license 6 months. they will give you 5 days a week.
Yes on a temp basis but not full time as such Ad hock as we used to call it
Unless like now when it is quiet it will start to pick up soon
