Would the DVLA check if you had really moved house?
i.e i was to “temporially” move into my sister house for a month then move back?
as my driving licence
(paper part) is in a shabby state also i have some old points needing removed

Hi andy187, I’ve heard of people doing that for the very reason you gave.
I’ve no idea whether DVLA make any enquiries though, do you feel lucky?

Mine isn’t up until 2011, so they’ll have to wait a while longer for any cash from me.
2013 for me cos I’m not as OLD as you
…strolls away, whistling…

Sorry ROG, you don’t win a prize.
IMHO, there are two possible reasons for your renewal not being due until 2013…
#1. that you dodged the photocard for longer than me.
#2. you were uncontactable whilst hiding from Coffeeholic.
I reckon it’s reason #1, cos I’m a tight git too and it takes one to know one.
I waited until I moved house before I traded my sellotaped together / been through the wash / falling apart / paper effort in

Hi kemaro, Say “cheese” and smile for the camera.
Then write 'em a cheque.
It does depend on how old the photo they have on record is though…
the photo on my card was me 10 year ago it dont look like me at all i was happy then plus i had hair

I sent mine off (well the ex did) and they changed my address for free…
A week later, the fiancee dumped me, so I suppose at some point Id better change my address again…
Do you have to have a photograph on your driving licence now?

I moved house about 5 years ago and had some spent points to come off my licence. I indicated this on the same form i used to change the adress on my licence only to get a new one back a week later with the points still on there . When i spoke to the dvla i was told i would have to part with some of my hard earned , £19.00 i think ! I think i’m in the wrong business!!
Unfortunately we have a government that likes to stealth tax us on everything and drivers are a prime target. You can bet that before long the price will go up to change the picture on your license, its all just another way of taking our hard earned money.
i got the reminder through but i’ve lost the licence. will i get charged extra on top of the £20 for my updated licence?
Just changed my address on line on Sunday got new licenec through this week … as here for me coming home on Friday … ah no points on it now either
My photo’s due to be changed too (end of March), but I’m out of work / agency worker.
Is there any way to get round it, I need to be earning, also looking for a ‘proper job’ and need to provide licence for obvious reasons.
Bloody gvt, they’re fools, ■■■■ everything up, tax us to hell, then give all of OUR hard earned away in aid / benefits / expenses
