i doubt you could get over the limit however much shandy you drank because with all the water content in relation to the alchohol you would â â â â it out quicker than it kicked in.
Driver-Once-More:
in my last managerial post, Iâd have to think was the driver trying to cover a drink problem up by drinking shandy. Company policy would have him out of th door on suspension pending enquiries
âIâm suspending you (unpaid obviously) as you were seen drinking from a can of shandyâ And people wonder why GB is going down the pan.

Well I admit after hand balling a load of kegs and crates I was glad of a hand shandy from a pub landlord.I would not drink and drive ,but a hand shandy is very refreshing.

I guess thatâs why your driving again because your absolute stereo typical know it all Bluechip transport manager that every driver canât stand! Really company policy!! Really!! Company policy!! Really!! Suspension pending enquiries!! Really!!
Personally Iâd do nothing or ask whereâs mine!
Rob K:
If you were a transport manager and saw one of your drivers drinking a can of shandy whilst working, would you think anything of it?
Shandy in cans is so low alcohol level it is sold to children with no problems. I miss it living here, I used to love a can on a hot day bak in the UK ⌠and no ! ⌠I woud say nothing.
dri-diddly-iver:
A few good replies above!! So Rob, do you have an ulterior motive for the question? Was it you drinking one??
It was. I bought a can on my way to work as I fancied one for a change. Sat in the cab with the door open chatting to another driver I saw the TM heading in my direction so thought it best to hide the can just in case. For the record I wouldnât give a toss either, but having seen the anti-everythingâs on this site froth about there needing to be a zero alcohol tolerance for drivers and labelling anyone a danger to society if so much as a drop passes their lips then I thought it best to be on the safe side and not risk having that âdiscussionâ with him.
I must say though, this post did make me laugh :

Why would you HAVE to think that?
Most people would assume that the person was thirsty and preferred shandy to other cans of pop.
If you saw someone taking a pill at work would you HAVE to think he was a junky or would you just assume he had a headache and was taking an aspirin
In the old days when we could pick and choose our work dray wagon drivers often had a pint or two at the drops.H and S has stopped all of that,no one will get near the limit drinking shandy.A beer at each drop is out nowadays.
Say nothing as they can of shandy isnât exactly all that strong not commercial shandy anyway. However I would maybe say donât have anything stronger and leave it at that depending on what mood I was in
