Hello Dieselcowboy,
Thanks for the pictures.
It’s surprise me that so much units had work in the automotive pulling between the U.K. and Belgium. On one of my last trips for Frans Maas/DSV i must change trailers in Gent, Belgium, by Frans Maas Automotive. I came emty from France and get there an new trailer for Norkoping in Sweden. Also there ar standing so much emty trailers at that time the end of 2006.

Bert,
well you see at the time these photos were taken we wern’t running the spare parts service yet from UK to Belgium, we were doing production parts, ie supplying the UK Toyota production line, we started the spare parts to Belgium much later after losing the contract for production parts. At the time we were going to Spain, 2 runs, Madrid/Irun, and a trailer change in Irun, this was carried out with the Scanias, and the MAN’s used to do Kontich (Antwerp) and TransMarck (F) changeovers, and deliver to the factory in the midlands in UK. Later we also added Lille and Paris as destinations, Flerus (B) and Nettetal.
Dieselcowboy,
I did never drived with carparts. Only electric parts for trucks from Danmark as groupage to Eindhoven (DAF), Zwolle (Scania) and Deinze in Belgium (Volvo). Of engines from Scania Sodertalje to Meppel, Den Oever near Den Helder and to schipyards in the Netherlands and Belgium. Those engines ar for fishingships, yachts and light/hulp engines for coasters. Some times you had full truckloads of 2 engines and then groupage fom 10 to 15 engines. Nice work to do only always loading of onloading by the side. In the winter by the old trailers was it ■■■■ work to do broken up and of the trailers. Later by the side curtaintrailers was it better. But that was by al it sidework. The yong drivers dont no wat it is to drive with those old trailers in the winter. Some times 4 of 5 times a day. Then you was happy that you can drive for 2 of 3 days. Back to the Netherlands of then to Sweden of Norway. Now you think back what a bad time bud good memorys on those days. Then you ask the planning who go’s the same way and onder way you go together to the ferry of on the ferrry together with mates from you company of others the same way. Now is every one on his own. If you ar on the ferry the most drivers ar Polish, Spanish, Bulgarian of other never go back countrys.
Also no mobilphones but always back at home on friday of saterday. Now you must drive for 2 of 3 weeks and back on the road on sondaynight.
In the memory of those old days, Bert Wolters
Now i have the problem with the new latout of this side that i cant see the pictures al wide. Only i see the pictures for the half. Must i change the pixels of the photos. Who can tel me.

The temperature of the IBC 's must be always 10 degrees. It was nice work to do. You had always groupage back to Groningen.
