Hello Sue and Ron.
Nice to reed samthing abbout a sub contractor from Frans Maas U.K. and thet you drived to Polen and Germany. I understand you had only one tractor in the colours from Frans Maas over the years? You never came to depot Rotterdam and later to Waddinxveen? One off the photos i see a trailer Frans Maas-Freight Masters. Did you chance them in the ferryport of came you also to Sweden or Danmark from the U.K.? We drived plenty off times with those trailers from the ferryports in Germany or from Sweden to Groningen. The fist trailersfrom Freight Master ware bad trailers.
Later when day had new one’s the ploblem ware over.
Fist sub contractors in Sweden.

Bert from memory Ron thinks we had 8 trucks in Frans Maas colours during the years we worked for them. Apparently we did come into Waddinxveen but not very often. We mostly ran to Venlo, Drolshagen, Salzgitter, Koblenz, Munich and Nuremburg. I kept a diary for every truck we ever owned, so I can look up where each truck was over the 20+ years we were running.
We never went to Sweden or Denmark, but Ron knew what you meant when you talked about the state of the Freight Master Trailers. Eventually we ran with mostly all our own trailers so at least we knew they were well maintained. Nigel at Tilbury was a pretty good transport manager overall, and had an incredible memory. I’ll have to hunt for some more pictures, but I know we have quite a few somewhere!
All the best
Sue
I used to do Milan from FM Brownhills every now & again, Roadway used to do a lot down there at the time, it was around about 1989, used to clear & tip the groupage at Somasi at Piotello nr the Airport.
A couple of years later there was a bloke called Kevin who had a new F12 Globetrotter in FM colours, doing Italy but I don’t know where from, he was a Londoner ish, last saw him at Yoplait in Le Mans in 93
Sue, i worked for around a year for Paul Williams( ), when he got his 4 new Nreg FH12s we were joined by one of your old drivers called Ramsey, after Williams pettered out i never saw Ramsey again until around 2 years later on a boat home, he was driving for Murfitts at the time but wasnt very impressed with them, this was around 1998 when i last saw him, just wondered if you know/heard anything from him as i allways thought he would end up back with you.

Bert this was the cover of our brochure. I’ll have to hunt out some photographs and scan them for you of ones showing Frans Maas name and colours.
Sue,
blimey, a couple of days ago I saw the pic of your old F12 on here, (seen it before on Eurowheels) and the question about RC Hart. I look back a couple of days later to reply and find you on here and all questions answered! Please pass on my best to Ron, and obviously to you!Been a long time since we spoke. I was talking about Ron to Kindle530 last year when we were discussing old FM subbies. Hope he is well and enjoying not being in haulage anymore. Nice to see the old brochure, and Denzil smiling away in the background! Do you still hear from him? I only have one picture of one of your trucks, Denzil parked up at Tilbury, so I was glad to see the others, remember the F12’s well. I will see if I can dig out that picture and stick it on here.
Nick ex Tilbury.
