i wont work for p/per mile, all my jobs are rated and paid one way, but i,m always loaded both ways, i usually do about 450kms a day for £520, i dont know how anyone can make it pay at those mileage rates you qouted
That’s 1.155555555 per KM

I was meaning in the current climate that’s decent money

I’d say 1.86 a mile is sustainable and a resnoble figure in today’s climate on genral
I on average do about 350 kms a day for around the same figure a day (520) but my my work is a bit more specialised

With some premium day work and double shift it, could make sense.
Aye, I’m not knocking chaps, just tell it like is, I’m king of not listening to good advice and ploughing on regardless! Fill yer boots
a more general rule of thumb for me is £1500 left after fuel, thats the benchmark i set 14yrs ago and its still what i aim for today
just to bring the O/D dream back to earth with a bump, my intercooler went pop on friday morning and now i,m £1275 lighter , on the bright side it gave me a day in the pub while it was being fixed

At 117 a mile you can’t!
Oh yes you can!!
Night trunk, light loads, 400mile round trip 5 nights a week 10mpg.
Running costs £0.52/mile…£1040/week
Standing cost…£600/week
Total costs…£1640
Income 2000m @ £1.17…£2340
Profit…
Unlikely scenario and maybe £700 is not considered worth the effort but is still a profit, and those costs are achievable.
My drivers earn nearly £700 a week
No lorry to run and no hassle!!

Never said that it was worth the effort, just that it is possible to make some sort of a profit in certain circumstances at those rates
Myself, Harry Monk and others have repeatedly stated that a good job with a good employer is normally preferable to becoming an OD in the current climate.
Specialise, find a niche, dont tell anybody about it !
