Muckaway:
My daughter was born on Monday night so you could say I spent it in the waiting room.
I’m going back to work Monday, nice easy muck shift to get back in the swing of things. A couple of customers have put muck jobs on hold until I go back, either I’m doing something right or other firms are doing it very wrong.

Congratulations my first week back after a month off after we had a little boy.

Congratulations on your latest arrival, sorry you where stuck in the waiting room. Many years ago before all the H & S they let me stay with my ride whilst she was unloaded. Think I still had to hand my keys in though and wear a silly vest.

In short it was ■■■■■

I finished the Friday before Christmas and started back last Saturday. Left the yard with a set of pikes (2x53’ trailers) which I split in Calgary on Sunday night. They were both going to Vancouver and I carried on with one.

Except I didn’t get far as the first mountain passes were closed for avalanche control. This is where they cause an avalanche before mother nature beats em to it by firing artillery shells at the snow, or dropping explosives out of a helicopter.

The firing shells part went fine and they cleared the aftermath from the roads, but the bit further down the road that can only be reached by helicopter had ice rain and high winds that grounded the big bird. So the road was closed for almost 48hrs.

I eventually got moving and had a good run over and got home Saturday evening, but I’d had a rotten cold all week and had somehow put my back out during Friday night and was almost unable to walk by the time I got back.

Came back to work Monday evening and my back is much better now, bloody typical, I spent all weekend in agony when I could’ve done with a good night out and now I’m back in the lorry I’m fine…

Oh and congratulations muckaway
