That happens most of the time on minibuses/coaches even more so on hen stag do’s. I bet they had only come on at the A1/M62 link junction with them setting off from South Elmsall meaning the driver would have been in the lane to come off for Pontefract/Castleford when he joined the M62 and probably realised he had to go into the right hand lanes to carry on the M62 and probably did so at the last minuite and also slowed right down judgeing by the damage on the back end of the bus. Damage like that is not caused by only doing 10-15mph slower than the flow of traffic.Don’t forget, CSI trucknet have already decided the cause was the trailer which became detached from the minibus!
I hope the law cleared this announcement with Dieseldoforme, after he invited them to release any relevant info.
On a different note, I have invited NASA to fly me to the moon. Wonder who will get a reply first.
And finally Cyril, the M62 westbound j32 accident thread is back on the front page, well worth a read.
An award should go to Carryfast for the best ever use of the edit button.
He would have got away with it if some pesky kids hadn’t quoted him in a reply.
Firstly I think the mistake in regards to the trailer was more a case of a question regarding all the possibilities based,at that time,on an aerial photograph lacking definition. The important bit is the argument that then took place throughout the topic between myself, together with others,v albion.
Just because he’d been arrested doesn’t mean anything, they’re probly just interviewing him under caution.

Where is Albion these days? He can’t be still on holiday with the missus!
The truck driver was arrested on scene due to the initial running into the back of another vehicle, standard procedure in a fatality ?
The bus drivers arrest has come after many hours of Police investigation, perhaps he has just recovered yes but in terms of evidence the Police will have plenty now.

Probably trying to keep a low profile since this latest development.

Are you really that clueless? Both drivers have been arrested for exactly the same thing. The lorry driver is still on police bail.
Also I never said it was the lorry drivers fault. Please try and get your facts correct.
Whichever way you look at it, its a bloody tragedy for all concerned, truck driver, minibus driver, other passengers, that poor girls family .

Exactly right JLS.
It is such a shame there has to be all this childish bickering about such a tragic event.

That isn’t exactly what you said here.

As for both drivers being arrested for exactly the same thing,as I’ve said,it’s obvious that the truck driver would have admitted to having been to blame for the accident by now considering the circumstances,‘if’ you’d have been right about the cause. As I’ve said the location and the obvious position of the vehicles suggests that the minibus driver has some serious questions to answer and ‘if’ the circumstances match those which I’m betting caused the accident then he should admit to the mistake just like the truck driver should have done ‘if’ it had been his fault.

It’s not childish bickering to make the point that in circumstances such as this part of the responsibility of being a professional driver,or in fact any driver, would be to admit to being to blame ( assuming that was the case ) in order to provide closure to the victims and to protect the innocent driver/s involved.
Nothing is obvious at the moment. You or I know nothing about the case but they were both arrested for the same thing.
All I said was it looked like the truck was to blame and that is what it looked like to the majority of people.
Looked like and it was are two different things.

How was ya holiday?
How do you know that’s how the majority saw it?

The way I saw it the words used were ‘it’s clear that he’s ( the truck driver ) to blame’.

Montmerency:
Why are people inventing convoluted scenarios in order to defend the trucker at all costs? He was probably driving too close/on his phone/too tired/whatever but it’s pretty clear he’s to blame. +1
Are you joking or are you being serious? How is it clear he’s to blame from a few badly taken photo’s and rumour?
If he was clearly to blame they wouldn’t have arrested the Minibus driver as well. It may be they’re both to blame, it may be the HGV Drivers fault 100% or the Minibus Drivers fault 100%. At this stage, to us laymans, nothing is “pretty clear.”
