Hi Viz Trousers?

gadge:
my mate was unloading at some network rail place down south and he could not get in the place unless he had orange hi viz jacket and trousers plus lace up boots on …W.T.F… :frowning: :frowning: :frowning: :astonished: :astonished: :astonished: …gaffer said the usual hi viz colour aint brright enough …lol

The railways use orange as yellow can be confused as green from a distance. It’s so train drivers don’t drive on thinking they have green signals.
Also their hi vis have vertical reflective strips at the back and angled ones at the front so you can see which way the workers are facing.

OVERKILL! :imp: :bulb:  don’t wear ANY HI VIZ! they’ll soon swarm all over you to ban you off site for life! :sunglasses: if they can’t see a 16 stone lump of lard, they should get THEIR EYESIGHT TESTED! :grimacing: :grimacing: last twenty five years has gone down hill! I’m a lorry driver ( trucker■■? ) not frigging bob the builder or a Thomas the tank engine SPOTTER!

Derbyshire Foden:
You have to wear them in most of the big quarry’s nowadays else they won’t let you in to load. And lace up boots.

What exactly is their problem with Rigger boots, is it just some overpaid prick in an office showing he is important as in most cases with these bloody stupid rules, or is there an actual genuine realistic reason for it.

I imagine it’s possible on a loose surface to put your foot down and get it stuck. When you take a step, it comes off. Less likely to happen with laced up boots.

I was told that it’s because they don’t give ankle support  although Dewalt do Riggers that do! I only wear mine when I’m on mud bath sites and I’ve never had any problems from Jobsworths, but as looking trendy and butch aren’t priorities for me :unamused: , I don’t tuck my trousers into them so no-one knows :grimacing: .
