HGV entitlement after ban

@zac_a have you seen this https://training.beverleybell.co.uk/

Yes, she’s made a very succesful transition from “gamekeeper to poacher”. I’ve met people who have been represented by her (personally) or member of her company, when they are at a PI. I dare say she’s very expensive, but I would also imagine there’s a bit of a “club” mentality where her presence cuts a lot of ice with that particular TC (especially if that is her sister Sarah Bell)
Another former TC, Nick Denton (who was one time a TN poster!) works alongside her on some of her training courses.

i didnt relaise that she represented people it was an article that popped up on my news feed on my phone.

from what i saw of her website she was running training courses for tm’s

She does, yes, both her and Nick Denton deliving a two day course (about £500 plus vat IIRC)

BB consultancy is a “compliance provider”, so that covers anything and everything to do with keeping operators legal, including legal representation at PI’s, delivering TMCPC and TM refresher courses etc
She used to run DCPC courses, £125 a pop, but these seem to have dropped off her menu, at that price I’m not surprised

I think retired High Court Judge Sir Alistair MacDuff would disagree over Bev🔔’s abilities.

So apart from a vehicle following her, controversy also seems to follow her.

Hi all for anyone ever reading this in the potential future just wanted to give you an update of what happened. so after i got my car license back on 2nd of April found out that i needed to see traffic commissioner, spent weeks with no news so started to chase them up. rang my areas traffic commissioner. spent nearly 2 months ringing every day until i got to the right person. eventually had my date settled for 17th. i could not justify spending a lot of money for a solicitor average prices i was getting quoted at £1000-£1750 plus VAT. unfortunately not in a position with them type of funds. any ways represented my self and had good success. the traffic commissioner was a nice chap. i explained to him how stupid i was to get my self in this position and wanted him to understand that this is first and final time im going to put my self in that type of position and all i want to do next is set a better slandered once out on the road. i did have a letter of recommendation from my two ex employers and job offer confirmation with previous employer. he did say in most cases he would of given me 4 weeks extra ban on my HGV entitlement to allow me to get used to driving again which i would not argue with but i have been waiting for 10-11 weeks already so he granted me my entitlements back on the day. now just need to contact DVLA to get the correct address to send my license back to them so they can add my entitlements back. hope this helps someone out in the future if they need any information. thanks for those that replied with valueble information.

Hi mate i read all of your post.Glad you sorted it now.I have 12 point too i was speeding.I am hgv driver.I have question to you if i get 6 moth ban do i have to resit the theory and practical test after 6 month ban ends?.cheerse

Hi I got banned for dangerous driving on my motorbike and had to do an extended driving test to get my licence back. Then I had to go to a tribunal in St Helens in front of Beverly Bell. She asked me why I wanted my hgv back I told her to do my job (truck mechanic) She asked me what I would do if I didnt get it back. I told her I would go to Ireland and take my test and drive on an Irish licence. She then asked me a weird question. She said that if I could tell her 5 ways to fiddle a tacho she would give me my licence back. I told her "ghost"it,wind the clock forward, wind the clock back ,drop a wire or pull a fuse.True to her word she gave me back my licence.

Hi there bud, not sure if it’s too late to reply or not had no access to email so couldn’t log in for a while. As long as they give you a ban for totting up you won’t need to resit any of your tests all you will have is at the end of the ban you will have to have a meeting with the traffic commissioner and explain what happened and why you got banned.

Not much point in asking another driver how things will work out with the TC, you’d be better off reading the Case Studies in that Statutory Document No.6 I posted earlier in this thread.

The Traffic Commissioner has a massive amount of leeway in how they enforce the rules, they’re less like a “criminal court” and more like a “civil court”, so they work on “the balance of probabilities”, therefore the threshold for their decisions is a far lower one than for a criminal court. If you’ve got multiple offences for the same thing, do you think that will make them think that on the balance of probabilities you’ll do it again?
