I think the place i went to was on Willington Quay , it was the late 90s , all i can remember was the canteen , a tall chimney and the river tyne running behind the building , i remember the canteen because it was cheap and the tall chimney because i was loading there one day and a bloke was scaling it putting new ladders up ,my heart was in my mouth i
ve no head for heights .The Roadtrain you ran looked great in your colours ,green and red is a good combination , H.Bakers at bradford had a similar livery

The place you refer to with the chimminey would be Cooksons, (Associated Lead), Antominy Works IIRC, We used to do a lot of work in & out of there in the 70s/90s Era, Regards Larry.

I used to work at Leyland Bus service centre and we had this as a straight bar recovery truck. TL12 engine and was told it was a Leyland early test truck?. Not sure on that. Spicer gearbox and would do 72mph with coach in tow!!

Well this Leyland RR 300T Powered would do 70.Before the speed limiter was introduced, But it still pulled well & gave us a good 9/10 miles to the gallon, Of course it was driven by my son Nigel who drove in the correct manner, We ran this for 7 years, Regards Larry.
