Afraid not mate, but it does look like a Swedish conversion…? Maybe Danne knows a bit more about it?

Yes indeed Patrick, seeing those big jacks it certainly brought back some memories.can you imagine turning up today for a similar job and finding out it was all armstrong there would be mass resignations.lol.

Cheers Dig

An old timer doing it well in a hard country,I got this off a truck net site a couple of years ago as I was good mates with the owner now sadly gone in my Super Hippo days.

Oversize load rather than heavy haul.

Hi chris! Is that 2trailers coupled toghter??

Danne

Hi Danne, Yes it is two trailers. Grain bins are very popular at the moment as farmers store the harvest on the farm and wait for the best selling price instead of carting the grain to the elevator straight away. Some trailers have hydraulic rams so they can stand the bins upright when they get on site; but I think these will need a crane.

Chris.

Thanks for chris! You sure got some strange outfits over there!

Danne

A mixed selection.

The tractor on first B&W picture looks like a Willème R 15 TP 8, powered by the big 18-litre 225 bhp straight-8.

When I was a wee laddie I used to walk past Morris Young from Perth, Scotland. They ran had mostly ERFs and also did some low loader work.

Me too Dean, will do me best to dig up some more!

Aye, you’re spot on Dig! The new “steering wheel attendants” in our firm are already complaining about using chains and spanners… they thought the job was a bit less muscular… :unamused:

Cheers for posting Oily, much appreciated mate!
Oh and you’re wrong about me giving stick, it’s actually the other way round, you’ve got no idea what I have to cope with all due to Herr Sutherland… :unamused:

Thanks to Dean, Dig, Herr Sutherland and Lawrence Dunbar for the pic’s, cheers lads!

Cheers for the info Froggy! Did a wee search on the net, but there isn’t much info about the R15…? Only pic I could find was this one…

From the archives, quite possibly one of the first low loaders that were ever build, haven’t got a clue about what make it is though…
