Some more from France, the latter was interesting, as that catamaran was fitted on a tilting frame… so whenever there’s an obstacle along the way, after pressing some buttons (the right ones hopefully) the frame tilts to a certain degree to simplify the passage of the convoi.
Anyone on here that has got experience with Doll trailers? They seem like a good alternative regarding the “usual suspects”?
Some cracking photos have appeared since my last post, thanks to all concerned for putting them up.
Here’s my contribution

And before some of you think, “that pv83 does [zb] all”,
here’s some from the past few weeks
It has never crossed my mind Patrick, you are a hard working photographer, who is the driver of that Mammoet Volvo? I know a driver that works for them as he reckons you can toss it off down the South of France for a week if it takes your fancy!
The current mission, from the factory in Iowa going to a dealer in Winnipeg. It was a nightmare to chain down, the lashing points were not where I wanted them so it took a bit of experimentation to get it to a point I was happy with it, took me a couple of hours and I was dripping with sweat by the time I finished. I then had to wait five hours for my Iowa permit to arrive in my inbox, fortunately I can run in the dark in Iowa and Minnesota, which allowed me to it far enough to be able to do the rest of the journey tomorrow so I can deliver Friday morning and head home for an early finish.

Didn’t knew Deere made wheelloaders too… cheers for posting the pic’s NMM
Normally the lashing points are up front, next to the hydraulic cylinders, and at the back underneath the ballast? In case of failing that, I just chained them down in the middle, at the point where they steer. Not sure if the Canadian VOSA allows that though…
Yeah front, rear and the articulation point are all cross chained with 1/2" chains, I’ll take some pics of them in the morning if I remember.
I thought the red for dead flags were illegal at night time and they had to be replaced with illuminated lamps…just trying to save you a few dollars in in possible fines and oh a few wing mirrors travelling the opposite way…
Some states require lights for night running on the extremities of the load, some don’t, I have pull out lights on the trailer which cover me, but I don’t use the ones on the front as they are on the neck of the trailer and shine straight into my mirrors, I have made up a set of lights that are secured by magnets that are perfect for tracked equipment, I need to make up some that will fit on other things, I put two multi terminal junction boxes inline so it will be fairly simple. It’s my next project, changed a windscreen and did an oil and filter change this weekend, so it will have to wait for now, I’m picking up an excavator next, so my current set up is fine. No idea on flags at night, I haven’t been nicked yet though lol
You can see the pull put light in between the 1st and 2nd trailer axles.
I see, I thought you would be on point. …but geesh you are always on the go it seems, ever thought of taking things a little easier rather than harder as you start to advance into the “last of the summer wine” years? … don’t let money be your master if you can help it mate
I’m very good at making it appear that I work hard, it’s a skill I’ve developed over the years. I rarely work a 12hr day and I only work around 20days a month and realised long ago that I wasn’t going to get rich in this game lol. I also enjoy what I do, so it isn’t really work anyway, just poodling around listening to the wireless isn’t that difficult when you think about it.

More or less the same as me then, NMC, albeit on a smaller scale these days.
Rarely the radio for me though, unless I am in range of Radio 4, audio books keep me company these days.

I switch between spotify and audible, I go through 4 or 5 books a month usually and I often listen to them laying in bed at night.
