Several batches of most interesting pictures! Any idea about the make of TB-07-83? Perhaps Scania with a local Dutch cab?

JohnnyGood photo’s there Fergie, that is PV’s motor parked up for 2 hours whilst he looks at what heavy haulage motors look like!
Oi! I was just simply respecting the rules, you know, after a 1 hour drive, you need a 2 hour break like…

How about this for a test drive Patrick ■■Click on pages twice to read.

Aye, it’s been covered a couple of pages ago, either on here or on the Saviem thread. It’s a Verheul, with local build cab (anorak might know more about that), and as for the Dutch text, I’m happy to translate it for ya Pete, but it’ll cost ya…

Keep them old pics coming “Fergie47” much better than all that shiny new rubbish !
Plenty more to come DEANB… the trouble is this time of year I’m fairly busy, yesterday it was hammering down with rain so got a chance to post a few…
I agree with you about all lorries looking the same today, my friend Alex Saville sends me Truck and Driver so i can keep in touch with the modern world of transport ( reading them, I’m glad I worked in the 60’s - 80’s,) and if you took the badges off the front you’d have a job knowing one from the other, much like the cars of today.
Some of those old French wagons from the 50’s to the early '70’s were certainly recognizable way off in the distance, and sounded different too, the big bonneted Berliets looked liked they could pull a house down stood still, they had a hell of a presents.
Today, when you see them at shows, up close and personal, they really are fantastic motors, but then again, so where some of the old British lorries, its just, as usual, the Brits were so far behind, in gross weights, power, and no sleeper cabs For instance, an F86 tractor unit in the UK ran at 32 tons, in France they were 4 wheelers delivering beers and wines on shop deliveries, that was the difference !!
Glad you enjoy the old pic,s, thats all I’ve got, the Whippersnapper will supply the modern stuff…

Its got 3 gear levers, so thats him £**ked for a start…
Why would you need 3 gear levers if you can do the job with just the one lever Senior? Or even better, put it in D, far more easier I’ll get me coat…

Oily,
Don’t be fooled by Patricks comments about Scania’s, he is just as enthusiastic about them as Johnny is.
