Could be. If it is a DAF with a manual gearbox, then he may well have been tempted [emoji16][emoji16][emoji16]

The “boy” is still alive and kicking, ta for your concerns though
Nice pic of that DAF mate, was one the first of the XF series that entered the fleet, trailer was a double extendable Nooteboom, did a couple of trips with that trailer as well, they sold it eventually in '08 or '09 I believe, together with some other trailers.
Now, speaking of DAF… I was presented with my new noble steed! What do you reckon…?

I am guessing this is the USA Mammoet lads at work - https://www.mammoet.com/
Looks more like the South America branch to me Johnny, and as for that beast pulling the lot, reckoned it was the same Mack I’ve seen in the yard some years ago, but looking closer at it there are some differences… if it’s indeed a Oskosh, no doubt Pete Smith will confirm, as he turned into a specialist overnight on that subject… he reckons they look better than a Scammell… you just can’t make it up…

Afternoon troops!
I hope you’re all well? I apologies for throwing a little curve ball in the ring here, though i am hoping you lovely people might be able to help me?
Im Editor of the industry title, HeavyTorque and can confirm that for 2019, we will be producing a comprehensive 100+ page commemorative publication on the history of heavy haulage pioneers Sunters’.
Whilst we do posses a reasonable collection of historical imagery, i just wondered whether any of the group members may also have some shots that they would consider sharing - for the purposes of print?
With this in mind, if you would be willing to share your snaps, please do drop me a line on email to andy@heavytorque.co.uk - or alternatively pop me through a PM.
I accept that a lot of the imagery is very likely to be original photography, possibly even negatives - so for your peace of mind, I am more than happy to cover your postage costs for any special delivery (signed for) mail: returning and receiving. After all, your snaps are keepsakes and we wouldn’t want to see them go astray!
Thanks for reading, have a good evening. Andy Adams
Ey up Andy, you’re alright mate?
Lots of cracking footage of Sunter’s on here pal, just scroll through the pages

Looks like you were doing a bit of fast cornering with number 6, Patrick.
Only joking, I saw one like that this week and thought what an odd looking load. He was, of course, being very careful with the lamp posts.

Coincidence Spardo just the other day the cook and myself were following an over width road train 3.6 metres is allowed in R/T double configuration out of the metropolitan area and his load a was overhanging the other side and we remarked why and its because our highways are so much wider and the posts are set back a little more are fewer and farther between on a journey and traffic isn’t as dense once you leave the city to the north than yours in europe so you can travel close to normal with the central white lines, this allows say heavily loaded triples and normal traffic travelling the opposite way to stay on the highway.
Of course the load weight etc governs where the load will sit on the trailers so its not rule of thumb.

Once I get behind the wheel, I’m a F1 driver mate!
But I can see why you’d be thinking that, looks indeed as it’s off centre like, but I can assure you it was bang in the middle like.
As for the loads you do have to load off centre, never liked that to be honest, with hydraulic suspension it’s a bit easier because you can fiddle about with it each side separately, but still… you have to pay attention all the way through

Ahum… I’ll just throw some bits and pieces in to make it as interesting as possible, but it’s the “usual suspects” that are making the thread going pal
As for the Sunter’s footage, can’t remember where I got it all from, but I don’t hold the originals nor the copyright on them. Your best bet are LR Man and Moomooland indeed! But if you need help, give us a shout mate
Cheers, Patrick
