Had to laugh, before I cry

att:
The pay at browns is OK…But they are on the phone all the time, or they insist that you call them.
The workforce is mainly Eastern Europeans and the trucks are treated like scum, as are the trailers and the drivers! I lasted 3 weekends, I need to work with happy people, with whom I can communicate with and I also need to be left alone to get on with the job, not treated like a 3 year old :unamused:

Some may be able to put up with it, but not me.

sounds very much like Hargraves International, part of Turners of Poland (Soham) :unamused: :unamused: :unamused:

Exactly what I had heard, but funny thing is, that all probably comes because they got sick of people tossing it off and dragging the job out…Drivers are their own worst enemy sometimes, and we all end up having to pay for it in the long run.

I did some work for Kimes through an agency once. I told the agency to never send me there again…

Ok, ty :frowning:

See how it goes I guess…

Everybody’s different - Just try it and see. What doesn’t suit one person suits another perfectly.

Wll done for getting a start, good luck with it, and post back here to let us know how you get on.

My biggest problem is that if Wakefields come back to me and offer me a chance I would feel a little guilty, don’t know why but the recovery just sounds interesting and a challenge.

See what gives and take it from there, I’m open minded, the only thing I can see ■■■■■■ me off is if they try maxing out my hours every day whilst on shift rate, hopefully the longer shifts will be balanced against sensible shifts over a week tho, we will see.

know its a bit of a bump, but can the OP tell us what happened, did wakefield’s want you, are you still at brown’s…

Turners own Browns now, 'kin minted they are.

they`re minted cos they pay their drivers £6.40 an hour. Was going to give browns a ring yeterday untilI heard Turners had bought them, now I wont bother. Mind you,I cant speak Polish so wont do very well at Browns!

Kimes didn’t work out, took home £350 for 65hr week, less my travelling expenses I simply couldn’t afford to work for them.

Wakefield never got back to me, no real surprise I guess, no relevant experience in recovery didn’t help my cause.

Back at Stobarts agency driving when I can get the shifts, sometimes Brake Bros.

Still hunting out regular work.

Looking at maybe doing a different licence, Teleporter and 360 driver work seems better paid and more available these days.

theres loads of work going, ring Fowler Welch, they offered me a job immediately as they are short but again, the dreaded 2 years came up, give them a ring and you will get a job!!!
Also, Browns are STILL recruiting, need a year on your licence there, also, onthe job seekers website, i think its eclipse recruitment, they depserately need drivers at Moy Park, Anwick. I live 2 miles from them but cant even get in cos of the ■■■■■■ 2 year rule.

Theres loads of driving jobs at Spalding going, all agency work but at least £10 per hour, just need 2 years on your licence and off you go!

Scotty

Oh, and theres Turners at Donington, they are a driver short now

Can anyone tell me the names of any agencies around Boston/Scalding way and is all the money paid ■■■■

type in jobseekers in google and look on the jobcenter website, its full of agencies like QS recruitment, Smart recruitment, Driver Hire, Eclipse recruitment, milestone, advance drivers, dkm driving, they all basically advetise the same jobs at the same place.

Try Gumtree, and the Eures website,Rapido is one to look at.

Cheers Scotty

I heard Yearsley are looking for people as well, just a bit too far out at Bilsthorpe for me tho :frowning:

i was delivering to “know how depot” , (Dixons) in newark and they have are advertising for class 1 drivers

i also had a link sent to me from an agency in grantham but wont mention in open forum :astonished: dm me if you interested

I appreciate that you aint keen on agencies Mark, but try giving Milestone a ring. They’re screaming out for drivers for Nobbies at Easton (make of that what you will!). I will say though that it isn’t like a normal agency job there, you are more or less a Nobbies driver without having to wear the Ronald McDonald clothes. You are run totally by Nobbies traffic office, the only input from the agency is a text a day telling you the next days start time.

I tramp for them, so only get contacted by text on a Saturday with Mondays start time.

Simples.

I’m banned from Norbs mate :frowning:

Worked for them for over a year on Agency, was pretty decent.

A life lesson in how not to stick to your principles, deep regret on that particular one, disagreement with the TM (AR) which I hope one day will be F&F.

Give them a bell Mark, as long as you weren’t banned for coiling one out into his swimming pool as you took his wife from behind I’d honestly imagine they’d welcome you back with open arms at the moment. Lot’s of previously banned guys are back in there now. There were about 15 new guys in this morning who hadn’t even been assessed FFS!

Funny how rules can change due to commercial pressure aint it?
