Greece ....any tips or advice?

Port tax and tolls want 150 euro
It about 10-12 euro each toll 4 on roundtrip like kindle said and cash only
Last month i paid 40 euro port tax in ancona
And was more in patras cant remember now but sure was around 60 euro all cash

When you come out the new port at lights you keep going straight over all the lights
And take the new road out it is signposted to athens

My advice is once out of the port wait for a Greek truck to overtake you then floor it and stick with him! I love driving out there. Not unknown to be overtaking three abreast, truck driving down hard shoulder, one in lane, then rest of us round them. Its so much fun. Basically they like nabbing you for speed, hence why its best to let a Greek truck first as he knows when they are out. But you may not necessarily want to drive like a lunatic so drive down the hard shoulder and let people by, like in Ireland.

Greek and Irish drivers are up there with the safest in the world. What planet has this guy been living on? It’s Romania ,Morocco , Thailand where you have to keep yer elbows in. Greece is an absolute delight for a trucker.
[zb] drama queens.

Hope this helps.

Nobody’s mentioned the wet roads yet? When I was there some of the roads were made with a mixture of marble and were lethal when it rained. Maybe things have changed?

So saying something’s fun makes me a drama queen? Blimey. I doubt I’ll ever live up to your mega trucker status. As for Ireland being one if the safest? Yeah right, knowledge shining through there. What planet have you been living on?

Ps, he asked about Greece, not Bulgaria,Romania or even Thailand surprisingly.

Have a lovely weekend. Hope this helps.

More or less dangerous than Romania, Bulgaria or Thailand?

The Greek police park you up in the hot summer months to prevent tyre blow outs. Bertie rules ok.

I see. Road safety experts are they? What about Thailand, have they been there to compare it to Ireland? Or maybe Bulgaria and Morroco? I’m not a mega trucker like you so cant compare. Must have been fun trucking to Thailand.

If I go back far enough my family is from France, doesn’t mean I’m an expert on France…

Hope this helps.
