So your not getting beter then?
All the best anyway steve

Nothing like tact and diplomacy… :unamused: :unamused:

out of the mouths of babes

That’s exactly what George and I agreed when we had a long conversation yesterday, tactless not malicious.
Not sure if you have his new number and have spoken yet, if not PM me (and anyone else for that matter), he asked after you and is sounding very upbeat in his new home though won’t be back online till the end of the week.

i didn’t phone him last week david, i was at the hospital when i would’ve phoned him, then i ran out of allowance by the end of the week.
i’ll phone him this afternoon, my allowance started afresh yesterday.
agree with you about the comments btw, adults are always frightened about saying the wrong thing, and usually make it more awkward than it need be.
kids say it as it is, my grandson come out with a good one the other day.
he was sat there quiet but looking at me all the time, when i asked what was the matter
his reply was to ask me if i would look after his dead goldfish for him when i get to heaven.
after i’d recovered from laughing i promised i would.

Now that’s a classic    only a kid could come up with that. Keep going mate it’s nice to read your comments

that cell count is up and down,a bit like newcastle and the premier league.
i"ve been keeping an eye on your developments, you are a fighter.

Hi All

I’m sure most ofyou have clicked on and worked out that I am Donna Hope,Stephens daughter! (And very proud of it too).

I would like to let you all know that my Dad is back home now in Bolton, as he always wished and very comfortable in a Macmillan Hospice, also as he wished. I don’t think he could cope with my constant fussing if he had come to stay with me.

He is very comfortable and still fighting. Most of the time he is resting.

I will keep you informed as often as I possibly can and I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all SO very much. You came as a constant comfort to my Dad.
Anyone who knows him will know that driving was his passion and to be sat at home , not working really drove him mad. You were his distration.

THANK YOU,

THE HOPE-BARRYS

Hello Donna, thank you for letting us all know
about Steve,Please give him our regards and we
are all thinking of him.All the best to you all from
us here ,

I want to wish Donna and Steve all the best. How brave is it for Donna to type that message? I HOPE that they have as much time as possible together and wish them all the best.

What good are words? I feel so helpless reading this thread. The man from Bolton is a leg end.

Never let it be said your mother bred a gibber…

GOD SPEED Steve and I don’t do GOD.

You’re doing well buddy, hold in there, it’ll soon be summer.

Hi All

I’m sure most ofyou have clicked on and worked out that I am Donna Hope,Stephens daughter! (And very proud of it too).

Hi Donna,
Many thanks for giving us an update.

I’m also proud to say that I met your Dad at Truckfest last year, where we found that we’re of the same era so we had a reminisce about our days doing work to/from Italy.
Were you also there?

I’m glad to hear that he’s in Bolton, because I know that’s where he wants to be.
I’m also glad that he’s comfy.

Please pass him my best regards.

Wouldn’t say I was brave Wheel Nut, just very proud to be Steves daughter.
Times are very testing, the only comfort I have is that Dad got to make his final journey home, thanks to my younger brother Kevin, who took him home Monday.

And, yes I was at Truckfest last year with my partner Baz,Son Leo and Daughter Bonnee.

We will be returning this year, so look forward to thanking you all in person for your support to my Dad.

Will keep you posted!

The Hope-Barry Crew x

Very very glad to hear that, Donna. You always have been and always will be part of the TruckNet family, and it wouldn’t be the same without you…And besides which, someone’s going to have to “supervise” Rikki in your Dad’s place, because the bugger never listens to me. :stuck_out_tongue:

Lots of love to him from us. (((HUG))) (and you, of course).

Todays update:

Dads still keeping up the fight, bless him.

I am very grateful to everyone for all their kind thoughts

The Hope-Barry Crew x

All the best to him, and Aprils now in spitting distance!

Thanks for staying in touch Donna please send your dad our continued love and prayers, the flowers are blooming just for Steve this year.

Hi all.

To keep you all informed, Dad is still fighting, although becoming weaker.

He is on pain relief and hopefully comfortable.

Take care all

Donna Hope - the proudest daughter in the world

And so you should be Donna

I spoke to Steve just over a week ago and he promised me he would hang on and ring me today to wish me a Happy Birthday.
I’ve waited all day for that call, but just knew deep down it wouldn’t be possible
