Going to edimburgh from northampton

My how things are different living here  Last time I drove to Edinburgh it was from our base in Bicester, I went M6, M74, then cut across from what may have been Crawford ? it’s been so long now I am not sure. The point is that it took two days for the round trip with my 11 hours off in the city.
350 miles :exclamation: it seems such a lot in the UK but here my normal run is NYC to St Albans VT which is 340 miles each way, I get up there and mostly drive 100 miles back down to my house ro if I need to save hours for later in the week I have got as far south as Ulster service area in NY state which means covering about 600 miles for the day. When I first started driving in this country I was shocked at the miles we are expected to cover in a day :open_mouth: If it’s all interstate routes 700 miles a day is nothing.

Mmmmm Jimmy Chungs on Grindley St Edinburgh got to be the best Chinese food in all the land.

Thanks lads,

finally we decided to take all the m1 then A1 till edinburgh, nice landscapes passing newcastle. For the way back home we took the a68, a697 then A1. Very nice scenic routes with a few lovely villages to cross.

We arrived to Edimburgh at 4pm and as it was sunday we parked very close to town centre, in a street called regent road. plenty of parking even for an artic.
