Giving kids a lift home has a whole new meaning

We used to get the front wheels of our pushbikes about an inch off the back of london deckers in the 50’s and 60’s to get the slipstream… it was great and the connies used to just laugh at us. I’m still here.

Some people forget what it was like to be young.

For once Phil, I absolutely agree with you.

We had the police round ours giving a lecture about playing on frozen ponds, Everyone knew it was perfectly safe,
Fat Lewis tested it.

Reading that I had a genuine laugh out loud moment! Didn’t everybody have a fat friend? The one you used to make lie in front of the ramp you jumped your Chopper over, or the one guaranteed to get caught when the big fella from number 23 chased you after knocking on his door and running off.

40 years ago the milk boys used to stand on a platform at the back of the lorry.I often cycled in the slipstream of the buses,a conductor shouted at me" get any closer and you will be driving the zb thing"The driver might not know that the brat is there.

When I was young, we attached a chain of sledges to the back of the bus under our school and had a ride. But then two stops down, the bus stopped at the junction, leaving us across the tram track… And tramway was quickly approaching… That taught us some lesson

Had a kid do that to me once when i had a rigid, saw him on the camera jump on the rear bumper lol.

The kids parents are in the paper today, they have reported the kid to the police and he’s been suspended from school over it as well, he even says its not the 1st time he’s done it, but he says it’ll be the last

years ago you used to get people and not just kids along the liffy in dublin jumping on the back and holding the handles

the cars passed you telling you sumone on the back but everytime you stopped they got off before you could get to the back

got so boring you just carried on they got off when you stopped at the lights

have we not been all boys?

Some of us still are.

We lose that sense of adventure and daring as we turn into ’ sensible ’ adults it seems plus it hurts us old ones more when we fall off

Your right they did report him and quite rightly the police are dealing with it. However, how does suspending a kid from school in any way act as a deterrent?
