Get in the back of the trailer driver

Those of you that get in the back as a favour are complete and utter mugs.

if it is in your contract then fair enough, you signed and agreed to it. I once did an agency job for Lynx, got to the collection in the 18t and it was loading pushbikes, the company wanted them stacked over shoulder height, they were over 15kg a box so I refused, they got all ■■■■■■ and one almighty row erupted between me and the company owner, ending with us squaring up and being broken apart by the warehouse guys. It is quite clear what is acceptable for one person to lift. At the end of the day if I was injured there is no way on this earth they would have paid me a wage until I was better.

Companies won’t give you a 2nd thought, so why the hell should you give them one - look after number 1 cos no other ■■■■■■ will.

Well I am certainly not scared of hard work.
Thats not quite true. I have reduced lung functionality.
Walk a mile and I am wheezing. Its new to me this year.
I am about to do my LGV training in a few weeks.
Someone mentioned… If your not prepared to get stuck in,
your in the wrong business.
Have done tramping in a van & drag. Loved it. Want to tramp.
I need to be told now. Will my health blow it for me. I’m 55 this year.

If driving was hard work I wouldn’t be doing it

No. Just pick your work carefully.

Well ive been driving artics on airport work for around 10 months now & when im at base i have to load my own truck using a pallet truck aswell as unloading it when i return to base.
Most of the places we deliver to or collect from require the driver to assist loading/unloading with the use of a pallet truck.
The warehouse men at my base always refuse to load/unload through the side curtain so even if we have the vehicle loaded through the side we have to make sure we can get it off with a pallet truck which i must admit is a pain in the but at times!!
There moto seems to be if it fits through the back doors then thats how it goes on or comes off. They will only take things off through the side curtain if its too big to fit out the back same with loading.
