Can I just ask, why drivers fill up their tanks shortly before they go and park up for the night in a lay-by or on an industrial estate, then come on here moaning because they have had all their diesel drained whilst they are sleeping?
Can I just ask why Theiving scum cant be drowned in a tank off stolen deisel
Maybe a driver is passing one off his allocated fuel stops an hour before he needs to park, and then onwards in the morning the next site is to far to reach. I suppose he could retrace his route in the morning to fill up, and then head back from where he’d come, wouldnt be a waste off time would it
jondeere:
Had about 400L taken on 16.10.13 Audley Avenue, Newport, Shrops, next to Country Wide, plenty of street lights and other trucks about.
So watch out if you park on there.
It’s depressing really,
Someone comes on here with helpful advise and , well I could go on but, whatever.
Anyway,thanks for the info.
Your diesel isn’t safe anywhere I suppose.
Although, maybe I’m just lucky but I have a locking cap and an anti syphon devise fitted to my truck for 5 years and I’ve had no bother.
Has anyone actually had a hole punched or drilled in a tank ? As I’ve never seen it.
It sounds a bit like the chalk on the loading bay kind of a story, maybe?

I didn’t get the impression that the OP is moaning. And even if he was, owning something is no reason why you should be sanguine about having it nicked.
Was just pointing out that some drivers just don’t help them selves or their company out on the road! I did not at any point direct it at the OP.
help out the company? the same people that wouldnt pay for the safe parking?
I was at Newport Silos a couple of weeks back, and they had just received a visit from tea leaves. Copper piping and wiring was the order of the day there. When I left at 6ish there was a cop car nearby, seems there vigillance was short lived. OP - I hope you reported it??
Had filled up in yard as directed with cheap derv, if i am away from yard then I fill up in morning. They just un-screwed pick up pipes in top of tank, I had swapped pillows to tank side but heard nothing, came at12.09 went at 12.24
Thanks for the heads up OP. Shame on those slagging the bloke off. Are you the same nuggets that moan there’s no solidarity within are industry. Can you see why??
Bloke comes on to share his bad experience in the hope it doesn’t happen to another of US and you all but call him a ■■■■■ What if he’d kept his mouth shut and some other poor chap had the sand thing happen. He’d be an ■■■■■■■■ then wouldn’t he.

I have, but that was when I drove it into the steel girder on a weighbridge
But I’ve not spoken to anyone who’s told me its actually been done to them, its allways someone else at the end off the day there’s enough trucks with just locking caps, and we all know how good they are so why would the scum have to go to the trouble off punching a hole in a tank
