Fruehauf Trailers

Re brake west
re ■■■■ in snow
re smoking axles
could it have anything to do with tipper drivers thinking they are still on there way to work in there car.

There’s a lot to be said for Rothdean trailers. Their own body is very strong without being too heavy. They normally use Fruehauf chassis but will build on any frame you specify.
It’s worth noting that Rothdean also do a very competitive long-term rental deal.

Check out a 2nd hand fruehauf before buying look for spring eye bosses that have torn out of the hanger and cracks on the body step, i dont think you will beat a wilcox body but who’s chassis you get i dont know, AHP used to be good.

I think Wilcox use Montracon chassis these days.

Paul

Don’t montracon own Wilcox

Silver_Surfer:
So, there’s only Fruehauf & Wilcox in it then? No other makes in the frame for tippers?

Kel-Berg
My T99 took all I could throw at it for 3.5yrs on the quarry work loaded with 31t most loads, never missed a beat(SAF disc brakes too) :exclamation: :exclamation:

How does the price of a Kel-Berg trailer compare to the equivalent Fruehauf/Wilcox? I’ve never seen many of them on the grain job so there must be a reason for that. I’ve seen them advertised brand new in grain spec but never really been interested by them.

It definitely won’t be a Fruehauf for me now anyway. 6 phone calls and plenty of broken promises later they’ve still not had the decency to get in touch so if I do decide on a new one it’ll be a wilcox.

Matt.

They are a fairly popular trailer over here in NI with the quarry men since I brought my T99 over in 2004 due to their low tare weight. :sunglasses:
A few about now also on the bulker work.
Would guess they would be FAIRLY competitive on the price of a new one especially as you can deal direct with them :exclamation: :exclamation:

I find that amazing that the salesman just ignored you in this sales climate, you’d have thought he’d have bitten your hand off!

With the price of the euro youre looking at a whopping 48k last time i looked. The chassis is made in belgium, swedish steel VERY VERY HARD STUFF.Ive got a 2007 very impressed ,very stable, only problem is tailboard hinge design with it being straight door the elec sheet canopy has to be moved forward so if you get loaded over the top you have to raise body well up to tip off cos the load aint on the tailboard ,instead of just opening the grain hatch. Also the door is very heavy to open to clean out + drivers hate them cos you gotta climb over the front to get into the back to brush out.
