Coffee I totally agree with what you say, but i still will say that there is no regulation stopping a driver from resting in his truck for a 45, there used to be but that was changed to accommodate drivers weekended. With regards to a hotel, your prices quoted are very reasonable, but theres one thing in booking it, and one of the boss paying it, especially as most drivers will want paying for the weekend as well. So although a company may pay £25 for a night out, is that for the hotel or inconvenience money, I can see many problems in that area when a boss refuses to pay, and also where a vehicle is left unnatended whilst the driver is on a jolly for the weekend, there are also other expenses to consider for example most drivers carry their own food, cos the job is nothing like what the Danes earn for eg, and the job really pays such crap money for being away all week,. and bosses who take on these jobs at low rates cos theres drivers who will do it, but when they are forced into a hotel and having to pay restaurant prices when they have a cupboard full of food, may make them think twice about doing the job, plus i cannot see HMRC reviewing their taxation system to accommodate these regs and on saying that its how the job should be done. This ruling only affects weekend rest periods, so if its to stop the Eastern Bloc drivers parking en masse, i cant see it working as they will have to obey the rules as we do, and that means paying for a hotel, but cooking from their side boxes which most do, so not in the cab and how many bosses will pay to have boxes put on their vehicles or trailers.

all depend in this life in Uk Poundshop and to many another POund… sale items for 1 pound .sometime it is less up to 50 percent but total Poundshop get not bad profit every years.all depend.to many company in UK simply wast money for nothing.we live in free competition.here

1st thing is u be overlength I imagine second is its all trucks no matter what and 3rd the trucks here bit more room but no washroom or shower apart from few owner operators in usa that actually live in truck average price of these conversions 300thousand dollars
