Since I started doing bagged feed deliveries instead of bulk, a couple of months ago, I deliver to a lot of small chicken farms. Haven’t bought eggs since; inevitably given at least a dozen a week, and they’re often free-range and a ■■■■ sight fresher than Tesco’s!
Best one was last summer; I was working out of Denbigh all week delivering game feed, and got talking to a customer about the merits of corn-fed chickens. He dashes off into the house, comes out with a huge frozen chook, “Here y’are matey, enjoy”; trouble is it’s Wednesday and I’m not home till Friday. Never say no, though, farmers don’t offer twice!
Shoved the brute into me cooler box, drove back to the Lazy Kettle at Chirk, and managed to talk the gaffer into keeping it in his freezer till I went back down to Carmarthen on the Friday! Home-fed chicken for Sunday dinner, bloody nice it was too!
Used to work for wisemans, early morning deliveries meant i got loads of coffees and bacon rolls. Now i deliver and collect machinery, i’ve got a right collection of stuff thats been left in plant, ratchet straps, stanley knives, zip ties… etc.
dropped off another smashed truck off at scania sheffield and got a nice scania fleece jacket!!!
Used to get tons of free t-shirts on Tour work , mainly dodgy merchandise , but saved on washing 
When on F1 always free grub , drink etc …and the odd Team shirt , dead handy when you collect them as a hobby !
Don"t get much on the boxes , but i went out with one of the waste boys yesterday…came home with £100 worth of clear fuel line for the race car…have you ever seen the amount of crap that gets thrown away thats perfectly good

Once got a packet of yum-yums from a bakery!
Not bad, I hear you say, but I was told to share the 4 yum yums in the pack with the other drivers- all 172 of them!!!
