Absolutely right, Larry. One of my employers had a favourite saying, “You can’t do too much for a good boss”.
To which I always replied, “Quite possibly, but I’m still looking for him”.

I remember one gaffer remarking “Britains only an island” when he wanted a long distance job doing in a hurry and wagon back same shift.Answer was “aye,and so is effin Australia”.
I remember being on the phone to our very young traffic clerk when he made the mistake of telling me, “Of course you can get there- it’s only two inches on the map”.
I made sure he never lived it down!
