Foreign drivers/insurance

a foreign driver couldnt get under a local bridge, girlfreind left him loads of room to turn in side road but he kept comming back and even though other car drivers/pedestrians were shouting at him he shunted the car up the road for 20 odd yards, cars totalled, daughter + girlfreind injured, thankfully not seriously.
police/ambulance attended, police interviewed him,hes a romanian who speaks spanish, driving spanish registered truck so coppers said
after interview coppers gave us what looks like part of insurance certificate, not sure what lanuage its in but it does say /refer to romania alot ,having problem with insurance as they want his name, i can make a name out from certificate
1.normally our insurance certificates have name of driver on ,this doesnt seem too,is that normal for abroad

  1. hes a romanian,he speaks spanish, the truck seems to be spanish but the bits of the certificate i can understand make me think the certifate is from a romanian company
    but is it

We do a double manned run each night and Jim is driving while I am in the jump seat using his phone and account to post.

Funny you mention pride and joy, it just proves Karma is indeed a cold hearted ■■■■■.

To cheer her up I think you should get somebody to do a painting of it so she will always have something to remember it by.

This bloke does good ones; I’m sure he will be more than willing to help out a TruckNet friend.

quote Ady1 “but as i cant speak/spanish/romanian im struggling”.  Ady, there are some of the p155takers on this forum, who would say that you struggle with your own native language as well. ZBs that they are. :smiling_imp: :smiling_imp:

Anyway, I am here to help. Not like that pair of wasters   Jimboy and Neileeholic, (and others) .  I am a former Stobbie man   I am kind hearted. Not like them other cruel ZBs.

Get your pen and paper ready and contact these people with the details of the incident in which your GF,s pride and joy was demolished, by what appears to be a useless Romanian ZB . :smiling_imp: He didn,t have a DHL trailer on did he?.

Here is their adress, kindly provided by my m8 Google, which I suggest you pass on to your gf,s Insurance Company asap. With as much information /pictures of the incident, as she/you can provide.

If you decide to sort the matter out yourself :unamused: :unamused: .State your case in nice clear English. DON,T SHOUT.AND DON,T USE ANYZBZBZBZBING BAD LANGUGE.Like wot u often do on eer.

Just as a bit of a post-script. Knowing how your gf feels about losing her pride and joy. You might now begin to understand how Mike Jeffries --( transport artist)-- feels about the loss of his personal pride and joy, about which you posted a highly insulting comment which has resulted in all the flak that you have had since. As you may now know Ady,— or am I epecting too much— this is a classic case of Karma. Or what used to be known as --The Biter Bit. Not so good when it happens to you is it?

Agree with above comments, however Ady, you need to pass this paper to your insurance co. who will have access to the services of a translater, if not their own in house. Along with the other basic details recorded at the scene, such as driver’s name, description of vehicle, registration no., police incident log no., weather conditions, pictures, witness contact details, etc.

Company owned commercial or pool vehicles do not usually have a driver’s name on the insurance certificate. How could they? They have no idea who might be driving it next shift.

Did your GF sound the horn?

Its highly liklely that the Romanian driver & his insurer will refute the claim saying he stopped & your GF failed to stop, hence driving into the back of him. Good luck.

I believe your employer doesn’t carry insurance, am I correct?

Trade in will offer you naff all for you car, 1st ins offer is slightly more. Youve been sucked in and bitten too early.
Say the trade in offer was £5k on a £10k car, your car in most circumstances retail at £6500+.

the trade in for car was £800 ,the offer from insurance was £1700
the car was y reg,80,000 but in as good nick as it goes[his words not seen a better one]
new car is 55 reg,19,000,as new and cost £3600

g.f has gone from y reg-55 reg,80k-19k,for £1900 ,i think its turned out well, even garage we bought new car off was :open_mouth: :open_mouth: theyd gave us £1700 for a y reg motor.

its just a shame the g.f doesnt see it that way[ :unamused: :unamused: ,hopefully if/when she gets her compensation for her injuries, and hammers the shops shell see it difrently :unamused:
