This is another one that really grips my faeces
Who is it in this green and pleasant land we call home that has the power to impose fines ā ā ?

Have to agree with you there but then I guess it comes under the same ārightā to clamp on private car parks.

Could be wrong but Iām sure i read some where that if you break down on the motorway you have 30 mins for your your breakdown people to respond. If they donāt get to you in that time the police/highways people will remove you themselves.A lot of people are killed on the hard soulder. I think that the risk of towing is far less than leaving it on the motorway waiting to be shunted up the arse. Especially as its a minibus full of people.
I wish they had come and removed me from the hard shoulder, do we all remember that very windy friday back in february, I broke down 1 mile short of j39 m6 northbound at 11.45am, put my waterproofs on and jumped out like you are supposed to, phoned the recovery people and work and everyone else, 2pm I got picked up, p**s wet through, freezing cold and collapsed twice because I couldnāt feel my legs.
The wind was that strong it was very difficult to stand still, I couldnāt take the risk and get in the van as watching all the other vehicles being blown around was very un-nerving, never saw a police car and never saw the highway patrol car.
P.S. Iām a van driver, and iād like to thank all you truckers for letting me sit behind you for a relaxing drive home.

If I remember rightly, everyone was dealing with a fatal RTC when a LGV was blown over in the wind at J38 that could be the reason why no-one came to help you. If you break down in future always ring the motorway control centre on the orange emergency telephone boxes. That way we know you are there and weāll try to get a patrol to check on you.
It was the time after that but remember that one well, drove past it after they had removed the driver from the cab, makes your heart sink.
