i prefer riggers because i havent learnt how to tie lace`s yet
Furry clogs…and nothing else
mainly normal shoes or slip ons for driving..and a pair of riggers in the side locker..for unloading....my son in law wore a pair of boots for a trip to spain from holland where he lives..anyway the boots rubbed his calf..which turned septic..and spread loads of poison through his system..he
s been off sick for 3 weeks since…so comfortable shoes for long distance driving is a must…
have a nice day

Steel toe cap ‘Caterpillar’ boots for me.Had current pair for about two years and still can’t wear them out.
They cost about £80 in the shops but I got mine from Makro for £38. (And there is no VAT on them so that saves 17.5% for a kick off!)
Yep, a very good make of boot. I wear these too and they’re very comfy and durable, wear them all the time (apart from driving my sports car as I’d step on all three pedals at the same time.)
Where’s Makro?
Company provide safety boots as part of uniform but like everthing you get from a company they’re rubbish and hurt your feet - so I’d sooner buy my own, current CAT’s have done two and half years and still going strong.
Drive Safe.
Dunno what they’re called, but I got a really good pair of steel toecapped leather triner style boots from Bacons. They’re smashing. Having had a difficult birth (how’d you guess? ) my feet are a funny shape and nothing else I’ve found covers them, as I found to my cost when someone dropped a pair of forklift forks (the big ones) on my foot. If anyone tries to stand on my toes to check the toecaps, I tell 'em: “Doing that 'ull do you an injury sunshine.” Funnily enough, they never seem to go through with it .
Crash Override:
Where’s Makro?
They’re a (supposedly) trade-only cash-and-carry chain. They’ve got about 20 stores over the UK. You have to have a card to get in (or be with someone who’s got one), and you’re supposed to have to have a legitimate reason for getting one in the first place (i.e. run a business etc.).

You need to listen to “Truck Drivin’ Song” by Weird Al Yankovic.
For the last 30 years, I have always worn Doc Martens slip on ‘chelsea’ boots Buy them in cherry red and then use black polish on them. Brings them up a lovely colour. Only trouble is they take ages to break in and the first few months are painful!! But thankfully mine always seem to last…my current pair are at least 6 years old but are about to die I am dreading buying another pair. When I am on a ‘drive only’ day … ie, I know I am not leaping in and out of the cab, I wear a pair of slip on ‘sandals’.
doc marten steel toecap dealer boots ( slip on ones!) and wellies
I always find that the cheap steel toe cap boots last just as long as any other and are comfatable too. Just binned my last pair after 5 years of use…2 years of that was climbing over pit coal…and made in china
Bully
Dewalt steely trainers in summer. Soooooo comfy and lasted 4 years so far. And steely leather lace up boots in winter from the very nice man at our local car boot.
Oh dear! Surely I’m not the only one on here who wears clogs?
I have a black rubber pair that I bought in Sweden a couple of years ago, much lighter than the wooden ones and longer life too.I wear them because I leave them on the top step and then wear slippers for driving.
I find it very annoying when you fuel somewhere and someone has spilt diesel all over the floor, which you then take into the cab with you,and you know how much the smell of diesel lingers! Or for that matter other smelly stuff when someone has done a ‘spread-axle’ in a lay-by and you stand in it in the dark
In the side locker I have a pair of steel toecapped shoes for when they insist you wear them when loading/unloading.

You need to listen to “Truck Drivin’ Song” by Weird Al Yankovic.
I found the lyrics to this song the other day and offer them for your enjoyment:-
It always brings a smile when it gets played on the radio.
by Al Yankovic
I’m drivin’ a truck
Drivin’ a big ol’ truck
Pedal to the metal, hope I don’t run out of luck
Rollin’ down the highway until the break of dawn
Drivin’ a truck with my high heels on
My diesel rig is northward bound
It’s time to put that hammer down
Just watchin’ as the miles go flyin’ by
I’m ridin’ twenty tons of steel
But it’s sure hard to hold the wheel
While I’m still waiting for my nails to dry
Oh, I always gotta check my lipstick in that rear view mirror
And my pink angora sweater fits so tight
I’m jammin’ gears and haulin’ freight
Well, I sure hope my seams are straight
Lord, don’t let my mascara run tonight
Because I’m drivin’ a truck
Drivin’ a big ol’ truck
Smokey’s on my tail and my accelerator’s stuck
Got these eighteen wheels a-rollin until the break of dawn
Drivin’ a truck with my high heels on
Oh, I don’t mind when my crotchless ■■■■■■■ creep right up on me
And my ■■■■■■ rings don’t bother me too much
But when I hit those big speed bumps
My darling little rhinestone pumps
Keep slippin’ off the mother-lovin’ clutch
But still I’m drivin’ a truck
Drivin’ a big ol’ truck
Headin’ down the interstate, just tryin’ to make buck
Wearin’ feather boas with sequins and chiffon
While I’m drivin’ a truck with my high heels on
I’m drivin’ a truck
Drivin’ a truck
Got a load to carry and some eyebrows left to pluck
And I’m late for my appointment down at the hair salon
So I’ll be drivin’ a truck with my high heels on

Sorry folk - its Saturday night (so why am I looking at this board then?) and relaxing after a heavy week aiming white vans around the UK (I was the one in the office giving the drivers their jobs)
Calv
must be steeltoe caps, we get ticked off if not wearing them, also steel helps keeping your foot down, well at least until you reach the limiter.
safety boots issued by the brewery ,which ive got to say are the most comfortable boots ive worn for ages.
I got a pair of Euro-Trucker, steely toed clacks, with a heel strap a couple of trips ago. They’re really comfy, let air in to keep the smell down and really confuse the security gestapo. RESULT
