Ya buga Larry that could turn a man’s eye!
Well, The sad thing is the young lad sitting behind the wheel is my late son Lawrence who was a time served fitter, & a very good one if I may say so, He went on to have his own Garage & Service Station at Belsay just north of Ponteland, Regards Larry.

They made some ‘lightweight’ six wheeler tippers fitted with the four cylinder two stroke engine, Hargreaves had some. There were many long wheelbase six wheeler flats with the S21 cab and Gardner engine around though, Tommy Babb from Alton ran one of them on bags out of Ballidon and Kevin quarries back in the seventies.
Pete.

I bet these 6 wheelers with the Foden 4 c 2 stroker engine would have been a pleasure to drive, I DONT THINK SO.

Well I drove two six wheeler Fodens, there were plenty around and Tarmac alone must have had hundreds of them, many with the ■■■■■■■ V8 engine.

Thanks “coomsey” The driver is my Cousin Tommy Boiston who is still about at the age of 87. Not driving wagons of course but still has a car to get about in,He was a Foden man along with his late brother Walter , They tried a F 7 Volvo some years ago, The ran it for a couple of months or so & Replaced it wit another Foden, Regards Larry.

A good view of the office. One or two of us will remember it ! Nmp
I never had the chance of driving an S21 cabbed Foden but did get to sit in Tommy Babbs mixer at a rally, I couldn’t get my knees under the steering wheel!

Yes they were a tight fit Pete but everything at hand. S39 no better for elbow room. I’m liking the fancy passenger door must be the deluxe model

Good looking old gal from Rotherham.nmp
