Depends really. Our local bus route has gone all electric. To cover what 5 diesel buses did they have 8 electric, and I’d wager a couple of batteries would be cheaper than a couple of vehicles. Great machines though, ride and furnished like coaches
If 8 are needed to replace 5, only because of range, then that would seem a good argument for swopping battery packs, agreed.
Since you are in the “coach driver clan” (obviously your face fits in many secret societies) try asking one of the drivers maybe?

Ah good stuff, easy to take things the wrong way on here these days, well for me anyway

Yes, Carmarthen - Aberystwyth via Lampeter & Aberaeron is a long route with no charging facilities anywhere but Carmarthen at moment. Long and stunningly scenic.

I certainly dont know how it was done, but it must take loads of skill: A wide road and a narrow ditch, but he got er in there!

Yes. That’s how consortiums work currently. For instance with a partner company in Bristol Im part of a consortium. We have to use their courses, as they are approved, and for that and fact they take on some of the admin we pay them a fee per student. I’d say this is most common way it works currently. Plan is once I’ve written a full set and got them approved me and my Bristol partner will set a consortium up ourselves and take on others. With good materials it could be very popular, as too many driver CPC courses are just box ticking filling time affairs.
However I could keep them all to myself too if I wished
