happened to me except i didnt realise until an hour later when i had loaded the vehicle.
as you say make sure the mode is on other work when you insert your card

Thatās more of a problem, I donāt understand why they wouldnāt just set it to default to other work when performing a manual entry, as that is surely other work.
It may be an older tachograph thing perhaps, as Iāve never noticed it before.
dont think its an older tacho thing. if someone has left it on rest then ejected their card it will assume rest after you have done your entry. you have to manualy reset it back to other work even through your last manual entry was other work.
as i said try and get in the habit of checking the tacho mode before you put your card in if you wish to you can also go find the person that had the vehicle last and suggest they quit doing it because there is no need and is making a false decleration technicaly
Yea Iāll definitely be checking and changing it from now on. Cheers!
In an extreme instance, someone might be putting their card back in a couple of min before completing a 9 or 11 hours. I leave my card in when on a N/O but I think some ppl prefer to eject it and put it back in before starting work the next morning.
Some folk seem to think you need to set the tacho mode to rest before you eject and I assume that leads to the situation you had where itās on rest when you start your shift.
Though I would agree strictly speaking the tacho entry itself is a work activity.
