Yep, definitely a bit of a shed that…seen worse though."quote]So that’s what “sheds with beds” refers to?
Just phoned the TM told him I won’t be back. I’d had several missed calls on my mobile and got an earful down the phone as there was a load for me to ship out tonight and he didn’t like being messed about. Funny, because I don’t like being messed about either !!!
All this for an average take-home wage of about £420 a week for 5-6 days out a week (…which included the weekend). Promises of being back for the weekend, new fleet of motors, running 100% legal …Nope, didn’t deliver on any of it !!!
I’ve been told I’ll never work back there again… took the words right out of my mouth
What company is it?? Sounds a right carnival.

Good on you mate!
I’m going to guess the first letter of the company is M.
…and the second letter is “A”?
No!

I wouldn’t want to name the firm as a few of the lads on there were really decent and there’s no point. It just wasn’t for me that’s all, so time to move on now.

One thing working in that [zb] heap for the day, but sleeping in it ? no chance.
I would bet that on the darkest of nights, in the hours before dawn when you were sleeping in it and maybe woke up, you would probably see hundreds of tiny pairs of eyes blinking back at you…shudder
I seem to have been lucky in my driving life with the condition of trucks given to me, I did once refuse to go out on nights out in a Merc sleeper cab that was a disgrace on Fed Ex /Matchbox contract, I got a weeks suspension on full pay and because I had no way of getting home that day they gave me a company car for the week I wrote to Fred Smith himself in Memphis telling him the fleet was a disgrace to Federal Express, I was re-enstated but on the traffic desk for 10 weeks whilst they ordered a new fleet so everyone got nice new trucks … complaining sometimes gets results.
On this company I have had 3 trucks so far, all were spotless inside and out but some of the interiors of trucks they put some new guys in are disgusting to say the least, as the head guy in our terminal they come to me with problems, one guy who had just arrived in Dominos with his first truck was almost in tears because he had to have a night away in it, I looked at the interior and called HQ to demand he got a new bed that day… he had it fitted 3 hours latter. Some companies just don’t care mate.
Thanks for the comments !!!
The phone calls paid off thankfully and Ive got a start with a firm a few miles up the road. Shipping out tomorrow evening so I’m more than happy with that.
…and it’s nearly a massive 50% pay increase. Can’t believe it

Thanks Scanner, much appreciated !!!
NO!
Looks similar to the first rigid I drove long distance; although after my first day in there I did clean it up considerably, spent nearly an hour brushing it out and stuff until I found the fridge sealed shut and the bunk had lost all of it’s padding.
The following week I was in it I took my thermarest and sleeping bag, and kept it as clean as I could…
You made the right choice Markoc, gotta have some self respect.
Truck net for the win! It’s funny, sometimes you um and ah about stuff then you ask advice off like minded fellows on here & your choice becomes a little more clearer. Good decision dude! 50% pay rise lol, also about not naming the firm, they may be ■■■■■ but there’s lads depend on it.
Oh & is that true Pat about writing to the fed ex boss in the states & getting the uk fleet renewed?
If so, you are a legend sir!
The motor could be used for the day as part of the Dcpc course.
8 hours to spot the defect.Job done.
At night it would make an ideal kennel for the guard dog to sleep in.
Well once again thanks for all the opinions
Much obliged to you all !!!
