Why POA, do you know how long you will be waiting?
For me it would always be break on a ferry, even the Woolwich
i thought poa cus i know its a 1hour and 15 minute crossing so will be haveing a cuppa etc away from the lorry. and i will only be just over an hour into my first driving stint. didnt think putting it on break and resetting my driving time would be correct, but sounds like i am wrong.
Break would be my choice, you could use POA but why not get a break in because you never know what might happen after disembarking.
Oh, and BTW, don’t go anywhere near the ferry option in the digi menu, it doesn’t apply.

MMTM that a bloke in an RDC told him his third cousins stepdads next door neighbour got fined 8 gazillion quid for not selecting “that” mode when entering and leaving Ferrybridge services.
Many thanks for the advice guys, i shall use rest and make sure i stay away from the ferry option.

You joke but I’ve had people try to tell me they have been fined <insert any unbelievable amount here> for not using it on the <insert ferry crossing of your choice here>.
If you are carrying anything remotely hazardous then you have to fill in a form with all the DG details on, you are then treated like a leper and kept away from everybody else.
Seemingly they limit the number of DG loads at any time going on the boat. It used to ■■■■ me off when all I had was a 45gall drum of red diesel.
Still it’s a nice crossing if the sun is out, find a quiet corner and a cuppa and enjoy the ride getting paid to do it.
Don’t forget your CMR and passport.

And you have had 8 minutes break, although it doesn’t count for an official driving break it is still 8 minutes taken off your working time

Dunno if I should be impressed or not, it was 5 years ago. Although my inspiration for writing them was reading yours.
Funnily enough that truck was up for sale recently, this boss phoned up about it as a possible addition to our fleet. It’s still working hard, have seen it around London a couple of times since.
